Although it is widely believed that a worker honey bee can sting only once, this is a partial misconception: although the stinger is in fact barbed so that it lodges in the victim's skin, tearing loose from the bee's abdomen and leading to its death in minutes, this only happens if the skin of the victim is sufficiently thick, such as a mammal's. Honey bees are the only hymenoptera with a strongly barbed sting, though yellow jackets and some other wasps have small barbs.

Exactly. I wasn't too precise in language (saying "normal tissue"), but not even just mammals as mentioned in the wikipedia quote, but in fact most vertebrates posses skin that the barbs function well with. Stinging another bee? Yeah, is can live. Stinging 99.8% of Heroscape opponents? It's dead.

As I said, it isn't a serious objection for me. (If I were to have a more serious thematic objection it is that there is no nod on the card to just how social honey bees are. The worker bees exist not for their own benefit, but that of the hive. The barbed stinger is but one example of that. It is better for the hive if the abdomen muscles are ripped from the bee, remaining in the victim so they can pump more venom in, but it is of no benefit to the now dead bee.)

I won't be around as much over the next week to really voice many opinions, but I would not have voted for the design as it is currently being discussed. For what it is worth, I strongly lobby for a return to the Hellwasp sculpt & Savage Wasp concept. Not at all feeling this 'honey bee' direction.

Have we decided if it will have tiny stealth yet? I think it would be an interesting idea, or perhaps stealth dodge.

Well I for one am still trying to figure out what to do with this design. It sounds like some want it to go back to the original, and others seem to just want a few tweeks to the current direction.

The biggest question, IMO, is what do you as the LD want? Figure that out, figure out what changes need to be made to sell enough of us on it (keeping in mind who votes on it), and use polls to take care of any spare parts.
