So with the news of Toys R Us going out of business, me and a friend have started planning on hitting their going out of business sales pretty hard. I'm thinking I'm going to go after a bunch of the expensive Transformers figures I have been avoiding due to cost. The idea to pick up any we may end up using in C3G someday occurred to me as well. As such we should work out a list of likely options sooner than later, then when the sales kick in all across America I can try to grab a bunch of them.

Power of the Primes has a pretty good Jazz and Grimlock out now if nothing else. I'm not keen on the POTP Starscream mold, but it would work I suppose.

Never seen it, so I can't really comment - I'd like to throw the Silver Surfer Animated series in as another under appreciated one, though.

Honestly, I think it was the Pixar-esq animation style that made folks used to the Bruce Timm style of "serious" DCAU overlook it.

I couldn’t agree more, the art style throws me off at first. As you watch though you realize the tone and style of storytelling is very good and aimed at a wider audience then just children.

Yep, I had to go through that as well. I never became a truly regular watcher of it just because it was coming on during a time that I was transitioning to cord cutting.

I never watched it live, but I remember 3-4 years ago it was on Netflix and after watching everything else for a second time (justice League, Earths mightiest heroes) I figured I would give it a try. Once you get used to the animation I would say it’s a top show that just doesn’t get the recognition. It unfortunately coincides with the terrible Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie.
So when that did poorly they pulled the plug.

My daughters and I had fun at the Heroes and Villains/Walker Stalker convention in Rosemont (just outside Chicago, next to O'Hare Airport) today. We all 3 got a photo op with Steven Yeun (Glen from The Walking Dead). The girls also got a photo op with Emma Dumont (Polaris from the show The Gifted). And they also got one with Blair Redford (Thunderbird from The Gifted). They also each got their copy of that photo op signed by Blair when we later went over to his autograph booth, where he talked to them for a few minutes and gave them each a hug. Emma Dumont was in the next booth to the right and came over and jokingly gave Blair a hard time about signing his name partially over her picture in a collage that a lady brought to Emma to get signed. It was great. The girl that plays Sage on The Gifted was also there and she stopped by to chat with Emma for a little bit.

Michael Colter (Luke Cage) was in the autograph booth to the left of Blair. It was cool seeing him. We did get to see a lot of other stars from about 20 feet away as we walked by their autograph booths. Some of the more known actors had really long lines of course. There is so much to do and only so much time, as you have to be in line for photo-ops at a certain time and autographs are at a certain time etc. Of course, that's why it's a 2 day event, but we only went for 1. Lots of fun.

As per any con, there was some costumes worn, and even a purple R2D2, and Kylo Ren. Some cool artist was also drawing with 2 hands at the same time while heavy metal music was playing at his booth. Some baseball guys I didn't know, though they may be the Black Sox that were the White Sox of the early 1900's that threw games. They looked neat, so I took the picture
