The Book of Tornado Twin (Dawn Allen)
The Book of Tornado Twin (Dawn Allen) C3G DC WAVE 38 FLASH FORWARD Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a modified DC Heroclix figure from the The Flash set. Its model number and name are #036 / Tornado Twins. Cut the two figures apart from each other and base them separately. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Twins Dawn and Don Allen were born in the 30th century to Barry Allen and Iris West. Both children inherited their father's superspeed. Although the 30th century was full of fear and hatred towards metahumans, the twins used their superspeed to help save lives as superheroes. To hide their identities, they spun in circles at incredible speed, giving them the appearance of tornadoes. Together they are known as the Tornado Twins! _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
NAME = TORNADO TWIN
SECRET IDENTITY = DAWN ALLEN SPECIES = METAHUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = PROTÉGÉ PERSONALITY = BRAVE SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 3 MOVE = 9 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 3 POINTS = 135 THE TORNADO TWINS After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Tornado Twin, you may take a turn with a Don Allen figure you control. Tornado Twin rolls one additional attack die on her turn when attacking a figure Don Allen attacked this player turn. SUPERSPEED Tornado Twin may move through all figures, never takes leaving engagement attacks, and does not have to stop her movement when entering water spaces. After taking a turn with Tornado Twin, if she did not use her Whirlwind Assault special power this turn, she may move up to an additional 4 spaces. WHIRLWIND ASSAULT Tornado Twin may attack any or all figures adjacent to her. Roll each attack separately. SPEED DODGE 3 When Tornado Twin defends against an attack, and you roll at least one blank, Tornado Twin takes no damage and may immediately move up to 3 spaces. Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
So the Tornado Twins are Barry Allen's kids from the far future and both have superspeed. I'm pitching two identical designs that bond with each other - pretty simple, but a fun mechanic I think. The mini pretty easily is cut down the middle so you can rebase them separately.
Not sure what class to put them into as they didn't really join any hero teams. They showed up in Legion comics a few times (so maybe Legionnaire?), and they are proteges of their dad, Barry Allen (but don't team up with the JSA or anything). I'm cool with whatever we want to use for the class. |

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
Student or Rookie work for class? Those are two younger superhero classes we've used and neither offer much synergy. Student offers none and Rookie has some Young Avengers stuff.

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
Yeah, class is tough. Wouldn't love to see them jammed in with the JSA, and as much as I want more Legionnaires, that's not exactly accurate. Tickle's Rookie idea could work.

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
JSA is Protege/Mystery Men, not just Protege (I don't think we have a design that just works with Proteges yet). Personally, I'd be fine having Protege as more of a general 'up and coming hero' class for DC than have it be just for the JSA. But I hate all hyper-specific classing so...
Got to say, really not loving the restriction for the bonus move in Superspeed here. Superspeed already breaks the rules of the game in a nasty way since it's a bunch of different powers all pretending to be the same power (despite us also having 'you gain the such and such power' powers, you can't have both of those things) but having a totally different trigger than normal feels even worse than usual. Feels like it would be better to break off the Whirlwind Assault part of Tornado Twins into actually having the Whirlwind Assault power and using that as the 'and no extra moves for you' trigger. Whirlwind Assault should be it's own power anyway IMO, right now it's just sorta randomly sandwiched in-between two parts of a mostly unrelated set of mechanics. Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
I don't love Rookie here as that's pretty Young Avenger (and adjacent team) specific. I can live with Protege, as they are young DC heroes and you can do worse than the JSA, but if you don't want them pigeon-holed you could also go with something more general like Champion.

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
Protege makes sense to me (and Protege is a soft-enough set of synergies to not control where they get drafted at the moment). Honestly I'd love to see Rookie opened up a bit as well, but not sure these guys totally vibe with the Young Avengers.
Agree with Soundwarp that I'd rather see Whirlwind Assault broken out of TT and used as the "no extra move" condition. It'd be a bump to four powers, but they just sneakily have four powers right now anyhow. |

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
I'm pro-Protege.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
Interesting. Kind of lean towards the Whirlwind spin out and trade off idea. Seems like two things that would be connected. Either spend time attacking all figures adj. and getting multiple attacks in, or only attack one figure and get to move more with that extra time.

Re: The Book of Tornado Twins (breathing)
Sounds like Protege and splitting off Whirlwind Assault are pretty unanimously supported. Makes my job easy!
