Competitive Tournament Champion Armies

Here people can browse and look at Tournament Winning Armies and the players who used them.

I know there is a thread about Competitive Tournament Armies and several others about armies but there is none that I know of that showcase armies that won tournaments. Sure they are mixed in with the other armies that were in tournaments, but it is difficult and/or annoying to filter through to find the ones that actually performed well enough to earn a championship. I especially want to have the Gencon Tournament winners from the various years we've had. I think this would be a great thread to showcase armies that performed really well. I don't mean to undercut Rÿchean's thread or anything I am just finding myself constantly trying to filter through threads trying to find the army lists from various tournaments and spending a lot of time doing so. I thought other people may be doing the same thing so that's why I'm doing this.

So if you have an army that won a tournament (1st place), please post it here and I'll add you to the list. (heroscapers names only please if possible). Thanks and enjoy!

I'll start out the list by putting some of mine. Please follow the format, but feel free to add some commentary below the formatted army if you wish. A link to a battle report would also be awesome!

Your name in bold. The title of the Tournament and when it was in red. Then I would like however many points the tournament was in in parenthesis () along with any other special rules, followed by your record in the tournament. Next will come the army composition in italics and then any link to a battle report below with a URL.

I won Norcal in a standard 450 pt. tourney about 1 year ago with....

This has a great core which I expect to see in some other championship armies. Q-9, Rats, Raelin are tough to beat. I had the 4th Mass in there as a backup to Q-9.... in the rare instance a melee unit got to him the 4th mass were behind him with 4 shots to clear the nuisance. For 500 pts you can take out the 4th Mass and add KA or AE.

Could you inform me as to what you record was? Also am I to assume that this was in '07 and not in '06? If there is a link to a battle report could you also put that in? Thanks! (I know you posted before I could get the format up. Thanks for your contribution!)

Jan 20th 2007. Record was 5-1. Battle report is here but brief synopsis... not too in depth... http://www.heroscapers.com/community...=asc&start=180

Highlights of battle report are 2 rats taking down Aldin's 3 life Q-9 on a single turn in semis. Summoning out Q-9 with the glyph and smacking him down in an ealier game (also with Aldin). Lastly,playing Voodoo who was the previous title-holder and had taken the Socal title as well several mos. earlier in the finals. I lost an early round game to him and adjusted my strategy in the finals. He had Krav and AE.... he whupped me in first game by simply loading up the Krav and peppering me from the highground (which had glyphs on it on this crappy map) until the AE dropped. Second game I loaded up Q-9 from the start and hunted down his Krav with nine single attack rolls from the Queglix. When his AE dropped in round 3 they were smoked before they could do too much damage.

People keep giving me your stats and accomplishments. I know there are a ton out there. I perused Rÿchean's thread but I cannot be sure if some of them are championship wins or not. Some of them don't have enough info or aren't correct info. A lot of those 4-1 armeis could have been in 1st place, but I cannot tell. Please post here so I can put you on the list! Thanks!

Sorry . I want any army that got you first place in a competitive setting/tournament. Team armies sound fine.

If it's any constellation your thread is still stickied plus I based this thread after reading yours and others. We have one that showcases competitive armies. Yay, but there are so many it's not really helpful IMO. Then we have yours, which is much better but still has the potential to just get a bunch of the 0-5 armies from tournaments which have their place in strategy and stuff (like what not to pick maybe), but I wanted an elite list that would show the winning-est armies. One that lets people know what the meta game is in competitive play. Stuff like that. Please please don't be offended by this thread. I only mean to make helpful threads for myself and others. I saw a need and am trying to fill that need.
