I don't think it's something that would confuse anyone, and once you read it it's going to be easy to remember - it's a linguistic/formatting issue more than a mechanical one. The problem really lays with Starfire having a generic power name that's both faction-specific and reusable. Not something I'd really fight for (and I'm in the minority, so doubly so ), so feel free to carry on - but for me, it's not the same power. It's a very, very similar power.

Initials are posted. Tried him in 2 games at 270 and 2 games at 300. Hard to say for sure, so we'll start higher and adjust down if needed upon the next set/tester's thoughts.

I propose a vote to move to Public Playtesting at 300.

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Colossus

Army Test
Map: Song of the Walrus
Units: Colossus (300), Professor X, Iceman, Blob, Mystique I (1000) VS Fan4 (1000)

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1: Everyone moves up. Blob and Mister Fantastic tie each other down.

Round 2: The Fan4 put 2 wounds on Blob. Colossus then rushes to Blob’s aid, but has to move through his ally Iceman to do so (no wounds). Both Colossus and Blob are blocked. Johnny flame on 4s Colossus. Colossus wounds Reed then Blob puts 3 wounds on Reed. Thing’s boosted attack allows him to take out Blob. Iceman and Colossus are blocked.

Round 3: Thing one-shots Iceman then puts 2 wounds on Colossus. Reed puts another wound on Colossus. Mystique and Colossus take out Reed. Johnny flame on 4s Colossus to take him out. Mystique puts 4 wounds on Sue and Johnny engages Prof X.

Round 4: Mystique takes out Johnny then Sue.

Round 5: Thing puts 4 wounds on Mystique.

Round 6: Thing takes out Mystique. Prof X wounds Thing.

Round 7+: Thing takes out Prof X.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Thing (2 wounds) wins.

Colossus feels a lot like a mutant Starfire, he’s a real solid attacker that relies on having wounded allies nearby. Unfortunately Flame on 4 proved his downfall here and his team just couldn’t pile the wounds on Mister Fantastic fast enough. Still, Mystique had a good showing in the endgame so it was close.

Round 1: Everyone moves up. The Titans put 3 wounds on Wild Child.

Round 2: Sabretooth and Wild Child kill Robin. The Titans struggle to wound the Mutants. Colossus swings at Nightwing but he dodges away, preventing the next two attacks. Wild Child wounds Raven.

Round 3: Wild Child wounds Raven. The Titans bring Sabretooth to 5 wounds. Sabretooth and Wild Child bring Raven to 4 wounds. Starfire kills Sabretooth and puts 1 wound on Colossus. Colossus kills Raven and Wild Child wounds Starfire.

Round 4: The Titans take out Wild Child. Miss Martian wounds Colossus. Colossus takes out Starfire. Miss Martian brings Colossus to 4 wounds.

Round 5: Miss Martian takes out Colossus. Miss Martian puts 3 wounds on Blink.

Round 6: Titans take out Blink.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Nightwing & Miss Martian (no wounds) win.

Sabretooth and Wild Child felt unstoppable here early on, but once Sabretooth fell it was all over. Colossus never got an additional attack except on Robin then Nightwing, and Nightwing could use Acrobatic Maneuvers to get out of the additional attacks. So Colossus should have done better here.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Tough luck for the Mutant side each time, but Colossus felt good. When he can get multiple attacks he’s an absolute beast especially since Mutants are a faction already getting multiple attacks in a turn. And he’s very hard to take down. While he didn’t perform at his best in either of my games I think they could support 300. I don’t think he’s overpowered at that point value at least.

Teen Titans are a tough one. Perhaps the strongest faction in C3G.

It's probably Titans or Mutants. The thing about the Titans is that their maximized builds are easier to figure out/more standard.
