Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Going down the list... you're right, really. The only characters I can think of that are blind, but A) aren't a martial artist with super senses (Daredevil, Stick, King Cobra) or B) don't have some other form of extra-sensory perception (Destiny, Madame Web, Shroud) are Reader (from the Inhumans) and... Alicia Masters, Thing's girlfriend. Not exactly illustrious. And even Reader is justifiable, he's a martial artist and could be justified as having enhanced senses.
Personally I'd trim the Shadow Tile stuff because I like staple powers like this to be as simple as possible... but when we're talking practical terms here, I agree, we may as well just lean into the "blind kung fu master" trope. If we wanted to tweak Destiny, we could probably staple "Destiny is considered to have the Blind Warrior special power" to Deadly Crossbow or something. Not sure if it's worth the tweak but, as long as we're overhauling things... That being said - I am still concerned, in general, about the level of complexity on the "just starting out" Daredevil. Four powers, and three of them are compound. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Velma, when you knock her glasses off is blind as a bat. In more serious terms, Blind Al from Deadpool should someone want to make a card for her. I think the non-blind warrior types that are just blind we don't really need to worry about doing anything special for. They won't be doing anything significant on the attack side anyway, their card should have powers that effect the game in other ways than straight combat. |

I'm leaning towards your earlier suggestion about cutting counter strike from the defense power. That should help drop the points some as well as some text. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Personally I'd suggest dropping the "bonus attack die" from his double attack as well as the counter strike bit - give him four nice, streamlined powers - but I think as long as one gets trimmed it'll resolve my issues.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Yeah, it's probably fair to focus on martial artist types for the blindness thing. I do think the blindness power is a case of 'the shorter and simpler the better', though. (And, if it's mainly gonna be on martial arts types, it should definitely be melee-friendly)
Cutting the counter strike thing from Hearing Footsteps is probably a good idea, if something has to give. Weird note on Blind Al, but she was actually meant to be kind of a bad-ass as well - the original intent was that she was the original Black Widow during WWII and knew Cap, but Joe Kelly never got chance to fully dig into her backstory. We just got a hint that she knew Cap during WWII, and nothing since. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Yeah the counter strike from hearing footsteps is the first thing I’d cut for space as well.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
This is what I'm leaning towards for updating the SP with once the 48 hour breathing period passes tonight. Any additional thoughts or issues with the design as a whole or how well trained Blind Fighters are going to be used in C3G going forward (this includes updating several cards to replace Radar Sense immunity with Blind Fighter immunity for those not following along)? Outside of Fighter builds or maybe Star-Lord/Cap stat boosting armies, anything else that should be looked at when testing @dok @Soundwarp SG-1 @Dysole @weebaer? Would it be worthwhile to try and use a Daring Decoy figure to keep an opponent from attacking Daredevil more than once per round, or a attack preventer/blocker like a Zemo's X trap?
NAME = DAREDEVIL SECRET IDENTITY = MATT MURDOCK SPECIES = MUTATE UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = FIGHTER PERSONALITY = FEARLESS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 4 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = ??? BLIND WARRIOR Daredevil cannot be prevented from choosing a figure to attack by any special power on any Army Card or Glyph. When Daredevil attacks a figure on a Shadow Tile, that figure does not receive any additional defense dice for the Shadow Tile. BRUTAL DOUBLE ATTACK After Daredevil attacks with an adjacent normal attack, he may attack one additional time. When attacking with an adjacent normal attack, if Daredevil inflicted one or more wounds on that figure and that figure has only 1 life remaining, Daredevil may roll an unblockable attack die versus that figure. HEARING FOOTSTEPS When Daredevil defends against a normal attack from a figure that moved 1 or more spaces this turn, add an automatic shield to whatever is rolled. GO THE DISTANCE Once per round, if Daredevil would be destroyed by receiving wounds, he instead takes no damage. |

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Maybe I should have thought of this before (haven't been following this one too closely), but what's the theme of that chance of finishing off someone one wound off death? I generally associate those sorts of finishing them off/kick 'em when they're down powers with villainous characters.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Brutality, I'd assume, from the power title.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
I appreciate johnny's concerns with Blind Warrior thematically, but I don't have any issues with it and I think Bats' justification works. Daredevil's a pretty brutal character (man, that Netflix show is awesomely graphic), so I'd well justify the one life finisher here over a lot of other characters.
YK, I don't believe your tags went through. Also, Breathing is only 24 hours now. Like Superheroes and Comics?

Yeah, just surprised to see something like that on a hero and querying it for my own elucidation.

Re: The Book of Daredevil II - Breathing
Yeah, unfortunately just doing the @ CRB generates their names, but not the active tags.
@dok @Soundwarp SG-1 @Dysole @weebaer Edit: See? Edit 2: Apparently editing the post activates them! C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
