Re: The Book of Megatron
Yeah, if we wanted that direction it would probably have to be something like this, just to iron out any weird corner cases.
PISTOL FORM After revealing an Order Marker on this card and moving with Megatron, you may choose a figure you control within 2 clear sight spaces of Megatron. If you do, Megatron's turn ends and you may take an immediate turn with the chosen figure, during which that figure cannot move, must attack with [Whatever Name] special attack, if possible, and cannot use any other special powers on any army card or Glyph. [WHATEVER NAME] SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 4, 6, or 10. Start the attack with 10 attack dice. You may attack with 4, 6, or 10 attack dice until all 10 attack dice have been rolled. Megatron cannot attack with this special attack. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Megatron
I wonder if the SA shouldn't be once per round. Being unengaged is a good buffer but a repeatable 10-die attack every turn with range of 6 is pretty nasty.
Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of Megatron
"Attack with [figure]" in C3G is shorthand for "take a turn with [figure] during which they can only attack". It's in the C3G Book of Rules.

Re: The Book of Megatron
We had it as a once per round at one point, don't recall why it was changed but I'd be fine with going back to once per round just to keep someone from using it 3 times in a row on you while you are stuck next to Blob or something.

Re: The Book of Megatron
For mini background, one thought I had was for it to be a oil drilling platform. I recall the deceptions took over one and turned it into their base in the comics, turning the oil in to Energon cubes somehow. Considering how Prime just covered up the mountains in his pic though I'm not really sure how much the background used really matters for these huge figures. Alternate idea would just be a city skyline.

Quote:
I think johnny's wording that you can't use any other special powers on your army card when attacking with that special attack is a necessary part of the equation to avoid TACTICAL DOUBLE ATTACK from being an issue. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Megatron
Two thoughts on the SA.
If we make it a once per round SA, then that eliminates the double attack issue with Diamondback. I was thinking about Ravage and Laserbeak and they are not going to be small figures, most likely medium, but I've don't recall ever seeing either one hold and fire Megatron's pistol. So what it we broke some new ground here and referenced the figure sculpt itself? The figure sculpt is very much a part of the game and rules, from hit zones to targeting points, the figure silhouette is right on the card after all. So it seems very much in the boundaries of the game. The reference itself would just to be hands, which is a word that everyone knows well and shouldn't be confusing or unclear as to the intent. If anyone is unsure if a certain mutate or alien figure has hands or if they are more like claws, then they can't use the SA. PISTOL TRANSFORMATION SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 4, 6, or 10. Instead of attacking with Megatron, choose a medium, large, or huge friendly figure whose miniature features hands within 2 clear sight spaces of Megatron. That figure attacks this turn using this special attack. Start the attack with 10 attack dice. You may attack with 4, 6, or 10 attack dice until all 10 attack dice have been rolled. This special attack may only be used once per round and if Megatron is not engaged. |

Re: The Book of Megatron
Well what medium are they do you think? Maybe we could reference something like Medium 5 or larger?

Re: The Book of Megatron
Definitely uncomfortable with calling out anything on the sculpt that isn't a defined game term. Not in favor of formally defining hands and ruling on which figures have them. That kind of thing has been suggested before and it's just not very "official".
Plus, I don't know, it's never really bugged me that Zabu can work a shrink ray gun, or that Beast Boy in the form of a bear can throw Bat-Shuriken. Don't think most people would really notice or care about Ravage and Laserbeak figuring out a way to fire a gun. |

Re: The Book of Megatron
Thematically, would Megatron let himself be fired by anyone but a Decepticon?
