Bucky's SA 'explosion' hits Intangible/Invisible figures correct?
But Nitro's building leveling explosion does not? That just feels wrong. If I were running him the first time and was against Bucky, I would not like that, especially if Nitro was a favorite character of mine. I learned the hard way that pushing theme too far can spoil a design. I do not want you to be disappointed or have regrets with this LD down the road Lobs. I would mull it over a bit. |

So a shotgun can shoot through a castle wall then and doesn't need to adhere to the basic LOS rules because it has an AoE? Perhaps the clear sight wording here is not needed as it is already part of the basic rule set? I was only thinking about one figure standing on one side of a castle wall with Nitro on the other when he blows up. I think hitting invisible figures should be allowed, AoE attacks have long been used to try an deal with Sue Storm.

What Tornado means is that Shotgun doesn't need clear sight to catch a figure in the blast. You need clear sight on the targeted figure, but everyone adjacent to that figure is affected, regardless of sight.
If you want a more direct comparison to Nitro, Johnny Storm and Liz Sherman don't care about clear sight. |

Thematically, I don't see this guy getting into a fight if he isn't already charged up. I think he should start the game with markers.

I don't think I'll get two new tests done here before but I did get one. He feels a lot better after this one test and I think he will play more like you wanted him to now. I do think his life could go back down to 4 though now, or at least dropped to 5. Also note that I made two ruling on the fly that I believe were in the spirit of the theme.
1. Nitro can not make any LEA when in gas form. 2. While in gas form, figures are not considered engaged with Nitro for the purposes of making a ranged att. on another figure. I'm not sure how to best add that line to his power but they both kind of deal with engagement so maybe something that states he is not considered to be engaged with any figures while he is a gas. Here are the test results: Army Test 4 - Does it pass, Yes or No? yes, this version felt much more exciting and fun. He does seem to dictate the use of OM1 in order to maximize his invincibility though and now that you simply can’t att. him for much of the game I’d return his life back down to 4. - What should be the unit's point value? Even though his team suffered a fairly big loss here, individually he did feel a lot closer to a 200 point impact. His team made a tactical error by allowing Piledriver to climb up a ladder adj. to both Beast & Jackal, resulting in Jackal getting KO’ed without ever doing anything but moving once on OM1 of R1. Nitro dished out a lot of wounds though and dictated some parts of the fight. - Give a brief preview. Want to rerun this test first as team Nitro has no OM dump here so he will be revealing OM’s on his card more often. It should give me a better idea of how the new mechanic works. Map: Secret Sub Base Units: Jackal, Nitro@210, Blob, Beast (800) vs. Wrecking Crew (800)
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: Wrecking Crew gain HG at range on Blob and starts chipping away at his life in R1, dealing 2W in 2 att. Nitro blows up at the start of R2 and deals some damage (see above), Wrecking crew fail to deal any new wounds in R2. Nitro blows up again at the start of R3 and has a bigger impact (see above), Beast negotiates OM2 off of Piledriver, Nitro rematerializes and finishes off Wrecker, Thunderball can now att. Nitro dealing 1W and Piledriver moves up ladder and hits Beast for 3Ws in 2 att. Nitro wins initiative in R4 and blows up again (see above), Beast negotiates OM2 off of Piledrivers card & stealth leaps away, Nitro hits Thunderball for 1W. Piledriver takes out Jackal from HG in two att., Thunderball hits Nitro for 2W. Thunderball wins initiative in R5 and att. Nitro but gets blocked, Nitro then blows up again (see above), Piledriver moves to even ground with Beast & att., 2W finishes him off, OM2 was lost on Beast, Piledriver moves and att. Blob form HG, Blob whiffs on def. and takes 2W, Piledriver then deals another 2W and finishes him off, Thunderball moves around Nitro but can’t att. him, Nitro rematerializes and hits Thunderball for 1W. Bulldozer wins initiative and charges Nitro, he only rolls 1 skull on 5 dice though and manages to deal just 1W after the 2 auto-skulls are added in, Thunderball att. though and deals another 1W (3 skull att. so that is back to back 2 shield rolls on 4 def. dice for Nitro here). Nitro blows up again (see above), Wrecking Crew can’t att. for the rest of the round so they reposition themselves. Piledriver wins initiative, moves adj. to Nitro and ends the game. |

Wow, thanks for the tests. Good call with the LEA's and engagement. A wording connoisseur could help with that. I'm glad to see him moving in a fun direction and closer to 200+ points.
