I like that aspect of the show. It helps encompass that Ultimate Spidey feel for me. And I like how Spidey is visibly maturing throughout the show.

I really liked the USM show actually, and the pause moments were possibly the best parts, It gave you time to insert some of Spidey's trademark humor. On the downside, it was a little on the side of a child oriented show, whereas the Avengers show had some aspects that could appeal to all viewers. Still looking forward to the new show though.

I'm pretty sure that "same guy" is Paul Dini of Batman: The Animated Series fame (creator of Harley Quinn, writer of "Heart of Ice," etc.). He's probably also my favorite DC comic book writer of all time.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
