The Book of The Thing (Fantastic Four)

Had a chance to try out Thing + Invisible Woman + Mr Fantastic vs. Hulk + Abomination to see how Thing does when supported by his family.
Abomination leaped into the fray and quickly got some wounds on Invisible Woman. That was enough to boost Thing up for Clobberin Time, and he took out Abomination.
Mr Fantastic tied up Hulk for quite awhile atop the Warehouse Ruin, taking advantage of Invisible Woman's Force Shield to keep his own wounds down while building up the damage on the Hulk. At last, though, Hulk's Rage Smash destroyed Mr Fantastic.
Hulk leapt down and knocked off Invisible Woman, who only had 1 life left. That left the enraged Hulk alone with Thing and Hulk rolled like 9 skulls to end the battle.

Awesome! Now if you want to make things more interesting, sprinkle in some Knockback. Hulk might not be able to get away from Mr Fantastic, but he can send Mr Fantastic flying backwards, which would help Hulk move and go after someone else on an initiative switch.

Who would you choose? The Incredible Hulk or The Thing?

Depends on who I was fighting and who else was in my Army.

Still haven't used Thing. He's definitely on the short list of units to play, though.

We did have the Knockback in use. Surprisingly, only once did Hulk manage to send Mr Fantastic backwards, and only one space at that. Mr Fantastic rebounded immediately to rewrap Hulk, though it was at that point that Hulk finally finished off Mr Fantastic. But holding Hulk on top of the Warehouse building meant that Hulk couldn't use his Rage Stomp to affect anyone else.

One on one, Hulk. In an army, Thing.

As I found, one on one, Thing gets hammered by Hulk once there are enough wounds for Rage Smash. With Invisible Woman to boost defense or Mr Fantastic to give him more direction, the Clobberin Time comes into play, plus it's more likely his Rock Wall defense activates.

What I noticed with Invisible Woman when playing against Abomination or Hulk is that their Super Leap effectively negates her protection against ranged attacks, putting them right adjacent and her very vulnerable to their high attack levels.

Yeah, but Super Leap also reduces their attack by 3, so that at least gives her a fighting chance.

Thing is meant to be played with his family, not alone versus Hulk. Try Thing and Invisible Woman together versus Hulk and I think it'll be more what you're looking for.
And, really, when Hulk goes on a rampage, how often does Thing go in alone while the rest of the Fan Four waits on the sidelines?

Actually quite often. Army calls him up all the time to stall the green guy. That's prolly my only dislike with an otherwise awesome card, the fact that alone, Clobberin' Time doesn't work.
