There is no rule that stops you from attacking your own figures, unless otherwise specified by an ability. This is usually only relevant when it comes to area of effect attacks, like Deathwalker 9000, who will hit his own allied units if they are next to his target. You might also want to target your own unit as DW9000 if doing so would allow you hit more enemies with the area of effect.

Plus theres precedence with Reavers scatter.
