I haven't kept up with C3V, did anyone try to take Kee-Mo-Shi's story method of mind-shackling and make a unit?
That is, rather than just have Mind Shackle 19, have, say 2-3 breakable shackle amulet tokens with a much lower roll requirement, but shackle ability limited to heroes, and heroes returned to the original owner under some condition like being dealt X damage or Kee Mo Shi's death Probably add in an ability where Kee Mo Shi can give up her order marker to use a shackled unit too. I had assumed that the designers would give us the rest of the Swarm of the Marro 2.0s after they previewed the first one, but 3.0s surprised me!
"Evil Raelin" is another example of the design team picking up where Heroscape left off back in the day. While I'm not into permanent alignment switching for major characters, I can see that there will certainly be new play possibilities with the new figure. So I'll be interested to see her new characteristics. And I can always play one of her older good figures, or even play Raelin 3.0 as Good for Jandar, if I don't care for her being forever 'mind controlled' or whatever. We do follow the rule about not allowing more than one figure of the same person in an army. In fact, since we use Customs, we very rarely have the same character in more than one army in the same game. Its an unusual notable occurrence when it happens on our table! So two Raelin 3.0s could fight each other some day--or ally with each other in a Team Game. Now that would be Evil! (I remember a single game here where there were three Agent Carrs! That never happened again.) |

Should we expect some overpowered synergies with C3V/SOV units as they might not have been considered during the design of AoA army cards?

The community will have to explore that space for itself. It’s a bit outside what I’m supposed to be able to discuss, and more broadly it’s something I *want* people to be able to explore for themselves.

I’ve never actually gone through the CV3 stuff though I have always heard it was good. Old habit, we used to stay out of the customs sections so that we couldn’t be accused of swiping ideas. I’ve just always maintained that posture in the hopes that something like this would come along.
