Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
Maybe let him choose any 2 goofy and 2 regular? I don't mind pushing him toward the goofy ones, but I'd like him to retain some of the versatility of Utility Belt.

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
That would be my choice. I think we want to encourage goofy to a degree. If that's the case, though, I'd want to have a couple more goofy ones (or make them a new category so they can be added to).

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
For elegance and ease of testing I'd have him start with the Bat-Shark Repellent and Bat Rope and let him choose any two others. Those are the two that I don't think you'd ever take from a larger pool if you're trying to use him competitively, because there will almost always be better options.
The Missile-Jamming Remote I feel is much more viable on its own. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
I’m mostly on the side of just giving him the regular utility belt. Utility belt 4 would be pretty dope. I don’t feel like we need to push this guy towards the goofy side at all really. Like he comes with the glyphs in the release that show off the old school character and the silliness of the show but the design is still fully functioning and useful. My competitive game buddies wouldn never draft him if you were forced to take Shark Spray.

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
Started looking them up and this is the first to appeal that wasn't listed:
NAME = GLYPH OF UTILITY: BAT-SWATTER SUBTITLE = INSECT SWATTER EQUIPMENT GLYPH When attacking an adjacent Tiny figure/Insect/Tiny Insect with this figure's normal attack, you may subtract two from this figure's attack. If you do, this figure may attack an adjacent Tiny figure/Insect/Tiny Insect one additional time. *********** It's literally just a bleeding fly swatter. Situationally useful against Ant-Man, though. EDIT: Just come across this, too. NAME = GLYPH OF UTILITY: ANTI-BLAST BAT POWDER SUBTITLE = EXPLOSION CANCELLATION EQUIPMENT GLYPH If this figure is effected by a special attack that affects multiple spaces, you may destroy this glyph. If you do, that special attack has no affect. EDIT 2: Batpoon, maybe? |

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
There’s a point to that, but I would rather make a glyph that only gets used with certain opponents than create an entire figure that’s draftability takes a hit without Sharks in the battlefield. I never draft the kryptonite gauntlets without a kryptonian in the game and the Shark spray would be the same.

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
Sure, but if he starts with Bat Rope and the Shark Repellent and still gets to choose two others, he's basically at the level of regular Utility Belt 2 or 3 there with the Repellent being an extremely situational throw-in. I guess you do get to choose the glyphs after knowing who your opponent is, so maybe it doesn't matter. I'm not sure having it to never use it is that much better than never having it.
My biggest concern is that it won't even be used against Sharks, though, because the other options are just better even in that match up. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

What if non-sharks still moved 1 space (because why are you spraying that at me)?

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
All good points. I do think the design looks more elegant with just typical utility belt though and forcing Sharks to take LEAs can be pretty deadly especially when the Grizzly Sharks will find themselves engaged a bunch of the time. Just my two cents though, whatever you guys/Ronin thinks is best is cool with me.

Re: The Book of Batman ('66) (Design)
I can certainly see you using Shark-Repellent Bat Spray to counter an opponent with a load of Grizzly Sharks. Until we allowed LEAs, no, but now against Sharks it's basically Waking Nightmare except it allows you to attack, which is actually pretty good - just super, super niche. I'd definitely take it over most Utility Glyphs in that match-up. Bat-Rope's more concerning, but at least the ability to take a friend will make it useful in some circumstances like scaling castle walls (and it will get better if we ever make tall buildings happen). My main concern is whether the goofiness is adequately reflected - if this guy can take sensible glyphs and regular Batman can take these, who's the goofy one any more? I'd be tempted to make a new variety called Gadget Glyphs for this guy's and let him take 2 Gadget and 2 Utility.
