Mordor, Repainted Castle, Sets Mix - Updates Page 2

Hello, this is my first really big map Ive put together, using one master set, one bridge set, one lava set, one Marvel set and some ice pieces from figure packs. I have more ice set pieces coming soon which will fill out the opposite end from the Mordor area. For Mordor, the main focus is the Eye of Sauron Barad Dur tower, which is the Toybiz toy, I thought it matched well. I also custom weathered the castle set, looked too cartoony to me with all the detailed figures and this superclean castle. I have yet to play it, but im looking forward to it. Any comments welcome.

WOW! Nice work man! you really made the tiles count. I like the eye of Sauron.. nice touch! All around great looking map. How many points do you plan on each force having? Also, where did you get that eye at? I really like it.

Not sure on points yet, Im not gonna play with all of those figures, i just put them all on there for display right now. I got the Eye of Sauron on ebay years ago...but you could have got it in stores when they were still out.

Amazingly well done for only one set of each. I love the eye. That Sauron figure looks a little big. You're castle is amazing. Better than many that I've seen. And It looks like you worked on the Marvel wall too. Am I right? All in All, amazing job. I love the map.

Yeah I painted the wall a little, but im thinking i want to paint it to match the castle...looks too out of place. Thanks

I definitly will I got some ice pieces today and have a full Tundra set coming soon so that will evenly balance the lave side on the opposite side and kind of crawl up to the castle.

The idea is that the castle is entirely blocked off unless you go up the ladder, fly, or break through the door, or jump over the barricades on the left. Having it in the middle, and players start on the sides, im trying to keep the terrain fairly even on the glacial and lava sides, with the same amount of level variation and blockage to the castle in the middle, where the good vantage points are for long range attacks.

Good job on the castle,love the weathered look.Thought about doing that myself.I know there is a tutorial somewhere,so i'm gonna go look. Love the Marvel black tile against the lava,will have to buy a set purely for the tiles.
