EDIT by funrun: The best way to report spam is with the new Report Post feature. In every post's header bar you can click this

icon to report a post as spam. When you do this a new thread is automatically generated in the Admin forum so we can get immediate notice and take immediate action.

I think this thread may be defunct now for this new feature. . .

Okay, a new game has emerged Spam-Hunters! This game is open to all heroscapers members and allows you to score points for catching Spammers to our boards and help the community in general by sweeping away the dreaded Spam before some innocent member might click the links (and create even more Spam).

This thread is for reporting thread ONLY!
All comments within this thread will be deleted.
To make comments about Spamming/Scoring use the Spammer-thread-rant.

What is Spam? Spam is a post that has nothing to do with HeroScape or any other subject of interest to 'scapers that contains links to offsite locations that either sell or are of some detrimental nature to our members. For purposes of the game, posts by members spamming thoughts or images of innane nature are not included in the scoring. Although, if member generated spam of this nature is annoying, the member's posts may be deleted and/or warning given.

All of the above Unconfirmed Kills were caused by reporting individual posts. It was determined that some of these may have been double reported as both a Post Spam and a Thread Spam and can in no way be confirmed. Therefore, new rules for reporting In Thread Spam were initiated. All Unconfirmed Kills are considered as Kills for the Spam-Hunters total, but do not count for receiving Golden Spam-Hunters Tokens. There will be no further Unconfirmed Kills added to anyones total Kills.

Official Rules (subject to change as needed)

• Post the URL of the Spam post in this thread. *
......- This gains you automatic Hunter/Killer Membership status into the Spam-Hunters! game.
......- Only the first member posting the URL to this thread gains a point.
......- Do not use the [color= red]color red[/color] in your posts, messages from Malechi and other Admins will be made in red within your own posts.
......- Not responsible for dropped or missing posts.
......- Malechi (or other Admin following this thread) has the final say in all disputes and any decision may be reversed at any time, for any reason.
......- Once the URL is posted to this thread; You do not need to PM a moderator as this thread will be the announcement to the Mods/Admins.
• Do not post into any Spam thread found. **
• Finding Profile Spammers (members having linked Spam within their own Profile, including Signature Lines) is not included in Spam-Hunters! scoring.
• Creating Accounts for Spamming is grounds for Deleting/Banning all accounts of that member! This is a normal part of heroscapers Rules of Conduct for this website and is only reiterated here.
• Past Spam catches do not count for totals, except those recorded within the Spammer-thread-rant before this thread was created (Dragonslayer received an additional score for catching of a Spammer although not recorded that started the Spammer-thread-rant which in turn created this game!).
• There are no prizes (currently ***) for playing.

* To post the URL of Spam:
• If the Spam is in a New Thread:
......- Simply copy and paste the URL from your Address Bar. You do not need to include the code as full URLs are activated automatically.
• If the Spam is within an Existing Thread it gets tricky:
......- In Thread Posts must be reported with both the Post Number and the Thread Number. Right click the "Piece of Paper" Icon to the left of the post's date and time stamp to copy & paste the Post Number. Then Right click the Thread Title to copy & paste the Thread Number:

NEW: If you report a SPAM post in an existing thread you must include the thread URL the reported post was posted to. Cavalier's post on the top of page 12 will be the last accepted without this . (it may be that some counts are off due to the fact that these may be double counted Spam posts. Previous reports will be counted for the total, but will not be counted for Golden Spam-Hunter! Tokens.)

** Please do not post into the Spam threads, this only brings attention to them and may end up having a less internet savvy member clicking on a link in that post. Thius is detrimental in the fact that it makes money for the Spammer and records our site as a place where people click the links and therefore post more Spam. This game is to rid the site of Spam not create more!

*** Currently there are no prizes except a better website free of Spam and the recognition of being a hunter/killer of Spammers! This may change and some reward may be initiated in the future.
