Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
Is it weird that the power that gives an Initiative boost is not in the power with Initiative in the title?
Trying to locate L_O's post stating that Initiative boosts are overused. |

I don't think they are, I think they're in danger of being, but it's very much warranted here. If we wanted we could move the initiative boost in IHAP:A into Avengers Initiative. Last edited by Lazy Orang; August 19th, 2018 at 01:45 PM. |

Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
Just a couple of observations.
1. There are no rules against putting multiple Avengers Markers on the same card when you draft multiple figures that hand out the markers. Before now it never really made a difference as there was no real benefit for having multiple markers outside of making it harder for Zatanna to get you kicked out of the club. With this design though, I can draft 6 cards that include CA, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, & Wasp II. CA gives everyone 1 marker, someone else gives CA a marker, then the rest of the markers just get spread out over cards that already have markers until everyone has 2 markers each. Now with 12 markers in play on cards, you get a +12 to your initiative roll. If Avengers Hawkeye gets made he can bring his 3 markers to the party as well for a +15. We should either put a cap on the initiative roll bonus or specify you only get +1 per card with one or more Avengers Markers on the card. 2. I'm perfectly happy with him having a double attack, I still often use the Hasbro Iron Man because he has a normal double attack after all, but you should know that I think his double attack of 4 is clearly better than his other options. I suspect I'll use the double attack choice 9 out of 10 times or even more. I'd only consider the +1 auto skull if I know I'm only going to get 1 shot at the target (ie. Bug will just leap out of range after the first attack), otherwise I'm hoping my opponent whiffs on one of the two def. rolls. The burst attack is only a better option if 3 or more figures can be hit, if I can only effect 2 figures I may as well roll each attack separately instead of once for both just in case I whiff on the first attack roll. I'm not sure what choices would balance the options a bit more. Maybe a defense reduction option for dealing with real high defense figures or expand the burst option to include a larger area of effect so it's easier to hit 3 or more figures at once. |

Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
I'd go with an Avengers Tactical Uplink or something similar for the first power name at least. I wouldn't change the way the actual abilities themselves are laid out. That's how we workshopped them for a reason.

"I HAVE A PLAN: ATTACK!" When rolling for initiative, you may add 1 to your roll for each figure you control with an Avengers Marker on its Army Card. If you win initiative, after revealing the first numbered Order Marker on an Army Card you control, if you do not immediately reveal the "X" Order Marker on this card, instead of taking a turn with that card, you must take a turn with Iron Man. It's depending on a figure with a marker and not the number of markers used. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Ah, good. That was going to be my suggested fix. Glad to see it was already there.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
Here's my thoughts:
1) 5 Life on Tony Stark is a bit of a stretch. I know we're skewing toward the MCU on this one, but maybe we want to go with Cyborg for species here? Iron Man most prominently lead the Avengers after Civil War and thus, after Extremis - which is essentially a nanotech "virus" that alters his biology, letting him interface directly with his armor from his brain and also giving him a low-level healing factor. 2) Stark Industries Ordinance feels like it should be a special attack. The third bullet, at least, for sure - I don't think we've ever had normal attacks that target multiple figures and that seems like it could be a problem. 3) Switching off of Arrogant seems a bit strange here, since the powerset included seems to... well, be pretty arrogant. Not sure if it's the best place for it, since he's the same old Tony underneath the armor. 4) All of our other figures that place Avengers Markers are Leaders. Is that something we want to stick to in the future? JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
Interesting idea on Cyborg. If we changed him from Human I’d definitely support Leader as class as well to avoid the Iron Man/Cap/Star-Lord/Robot build from becoming too tough. Or at least Strategist.

Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
I like the idea of calling this Extremis. It makes the stats and powers both work well. However, if so, I think you should use the Marvel 10th Anniversary Figure.
Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) The correct way to add C3G playtests to posts. My favorite day EVER on heroscapers. Re: The Book of Iron Man (Avengers) - Breathing
I'm for sure in favor of Leader both to keep consistency within the Avengers characters and to keep him away from Star-Lord. I haven't played Justice League yet but reading them has felt weird since they reference so many different classes.
Like Superheroes and Comics?
