That said, even if you never put four markers on the same card, it's still insanely powerful. I would say that putting all your eggs in the "take over" basket is probably not the most competitive play, really. One of the best approaches could be turtling with your own figures and using it that way. You can also just make strategic forays into affecting other figures.

You can reduce Superman's defense to 3 and Thor's attack to 4, then give your own Wolverine a range of 5 and a defense of 6. Even if you die at that point, you've already seriously altered the direction of the game.

Yeah, I get that you can buff your own figures. I just wanted to make sure I was reading the power correctly. Thanks for the clarification...rolling four consecutive 14's against the same figure seems like it is more of a theme nod and not really a power that is likely to trigger.

Compared to the 5% chance to roll a 20 on a D20 at any given time (which is what you need for plenty of game changing powers in the game) and I'd say he's fairly on par.

It's possible to get the 4 markers on a single opposing player if you really go for it, but it is difficult (and should be, competitively speaking). It's also usually not your optimal competitive move to go for it, just because you really have to focus your game on going for it in order to get it to happen most of the time.

It's probably more worth it to try when he's matched up against some opposing Mutants. Throw Blob in with him to lock the other figure down, and then give Sinister some defensive back up, and I could see it being done.

In one game I gave Emma Frost, Range 6, Defense 7, Attack 8 in Diamond Form!
I was able to take control of Sabertooth in another game. I found that his Pounce attack allows you to lower his Move and Attack and it does not weaken him too much.

I will eagerly await to see how he fairs in the online matches.

Awesome! I've wanted Mister Sinister for a long time and this guy does not disappoint! Can't wait to play him!

A couple of questions, if I may?

One, can you Genetically Alter a stat you've already Genetically Altered? Whichever way this ruling goes, it should probably be in the FAQs - I honestly don't know!

Second, having had a look at figures to pick up for this, I'm thinking I'm probably going to use the Chaos War figure rather than the official one, but I'd like to know first if anyone else has that figure and, if they do, is this guy's left hand attached to the genetics tank? I can't find a pic on the internet that shows it clearly.

We should put something like that in the FAQ for the mini, i had to do again my playtests when i was testing him because i didn't get the grip of that either.
