Re: The Book of Bizarnage - Breathing
I'm good with simplifying Elusive, yeah. Could give him something like an Acrobatic Maneuver-esque shield movement too, if you want him bouncy.
So currently He wants to get close to his target but actively NOT attack his target because of the autowounds, just pick off everyone around him. Seems weird so just want to check that's your intention! Theme wise yeah, he's about 0% Bizarro. The whole Spider-Boy book is all Spider-Man, just swap these characters for Spider-Man and Venom and you wouldn't even know. Now I want to check to see who has more comic history, Venom Pigeon or Bizarnage? Both exist for only a few panels, so good icons for C3G to tackle. |

Re: The Book of Bizarnage - Breathing
I don't understand why Spider-Boy #1 gets the bad rap it does. The subversion of Spider-Man origins blended with Super-Boy elements show that the writer, Karl Kesel (credited as Co-Creator of Kon-El Superboy in 1993, 3 years before this book), is intimately familiar with the source material he is remolding, and doing so with intelligence.
A few Super-Boy elements in the book would be Cadmus, Dabney Donovan being the villain behind the entire plot, and his work relating to the "menagerie" that Bizarnage escaped from. Bizarro first appeared in Super-Boy #68, being a monochromatic skinned, Frankensteinish-minded copy of Super-Boy who just wants to be liked. Merge that idea with the murder-driven tendencies of Carnage, an imperfect copy of a copy of Spider-Man, and you have Bizarnage. Just as Spider-Boy utilizes Bizarnage's naivety against him, so too did Super-Boy against Bizarro. Bizarnage's defeat somewhat mimics Bizarro's at the end of his first book, as they both lunge headfirst at the Boys to their doom. |

Re: The Book of Bizarnage - Breathing
I think that works. You could also make it a general boost combined with a general debuff (like +2 attack, -2 defense) when he's in range, if you wanted to give some more flexiblity, but obviously it's a little less unique than the reverse counter strike.

Re: The Book of Bizarnage - Breathing
When doing the checklists I noticed that Clamber specifies that you DO take LEAs when using it, how does that work with Phantom Walk? Can we just drop that line here without causing any problems?

Re: The Book of Bizarnage - Breathing
7 defense seems like a lot when paired with 6 life. Seems a bit off compared to our usual Symbiote stats, though we do have some variance there.
I'd just cut that line from Clamber, yeah. |
