This spell will not work against the new flying Black Planeswalker in the Battle For Zendikar expansion, as a PW is not a creature.

Maybe there will be some new flying creatures in the expansion, I think we can expect four squads. But right now this is a pretty useless card. It only works against the Phoenixes so unless you're playing against red it pretty much just gets cycled and uses one of your three spells for the turn. Its also has the lowest point cost possible for a spell, unless they do a 0 cost spell or increments of less than 5 points.

Honestly, cycling a card is pretty good since you rarely if ever play three cards in one turn/draw your entire deck. I just play it as soon as I draw it so I can find Paths Revealed + Overrun faster or whatever else I want to draw in that particular game. The difference between an 11 card deck and a 12 card deck is negligible and having the chance to kill a Phoenix for free makes the card pretty good overall.
