I Havn't received my D3 order yet though so I can't say for sure. The difference between the Zombie Hulk and Deathwalker 9000 is their feet size. Deathwalker has big clonkers whereas the Zombie Hulk has glass slipper worthy feet. Last edited by Tiranx; November 19th, 2010 at 11:37 PM. Reason: Excitement over more zombies in 'scape! |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla-nominations and discussion
My inclination is not to review the Zombie Hulk until dok is satisfied with the sculpt and its size, both as reflected on the card and as it relates to the base issue.
Thank you guys for caring that we have a final product to review, robbdaman, dok, and tiranx. |

That half-centimeter of extra width is probably the difference between the Hulk's toes hanging off the edge or not. Quote:
I should note that I actually did about half of my testing of this figure with double-spaced proxies. There are some advantages for this figure to being double-spaced - notably, the ability to engage more figures and set up more paralyzing-fear-enhanced zombie attacks. On the other hand, a double-spaced hulk wouldn't be able to replace a dead single-spaced large or huge figure if it was on a single-hex landing. It's not really a balance issue; it's more of a personal preference I have for using a single-spaced base for this figure. |

Re: Soldiers of Valhalla-nominations and discussion
Hey guys, I just received a Zombie Hulk (for dok's custom BTW) and the new D3. The base of the Zombie Hulk is 48mm in diameter, while the D3 large bases are 40 mm even. The Zombie Hulk would not fit, because he is in a walking stance that spans the entire D&D base of 48mm. He will have to go on a peanut base or its equivalent.
Which reminds me, peanut bases are going to become scarce...I think an alternative will have to decided upon. Also dok's about right on with Large 6, he's about the same height as the Master of the Hunt. Re: Soldiers of Valhalla-nominations and discussion
Robbdaman, how big is the stance of Gor'vath?
I'd assumed he would be single hex based but after this about the Zombie Hulk I'm not so confident anymore... |

It doesn't come out looking perfect, in part because the peanut base is about 3/8 of an inch longer than a circular huge base. You end up with a rounded hourglass as opposed to a peanut. But some wire cutters and sandpaper does get you a base that works in heroscape... assuming the figure itself fits in the peanut profile. When it comes to large figures, though, I don't think this would be a very effective approach. It wouldn't look right because the peanut would be so heavily truncated. |
