while i think that Chuck Connors or Fess Parker characters would look awsome, and Imperial Brit's are just too cool, i'm still leaning toward a mixture of the Blue and the Grey.
the only problem with doing Civil War is that you get caught in that whole "North/South-Good/Bad" debate. which side do you do, and for what faction. could also do allied trench fighters from the Great War. those would be awsome. or mabye "Bonnie & Clide" heroes? just a ramble... ...the rich (My HEX Game Files @ http://www.scribd.com/_the_rich) Lawton/Fort Sill Heroscape (monthly?) (From the song "Ballad of the Alamo") I think they would be considered American Frontiersmen. ~From one who just happened to be born on the anniversary of the siege of the Alamo. |

I went with None, Sweetcurse, so I can say Alamo!!!
Although I was tempted by "Brithish Imperialism" - does that mean they're drunk? |

I think they will be a western posse with some form of lawman bonding and an ability similar to this.
Wanted Dead or Alive: At the beginning to the game, choose a unique army card your opponent controls. "Western Posse" receives an additional attack die when attacking figures from that army card. |

I picked "other." I would like to see riflemen on horseback from one of the following tribes:
Oglala Sioux (Crazy Horse's) Lakota Sioux (Sitting Bull's tribe) Chiricahua Apache (Geronimo's and Cochise's tribe) |

If frontiersmen are Alamo defenders, then that's my pick. That would be too cool. Can you imagine the ubbercoolness of an army of Alamo Defenders + Spartans of Thermopylae?

Or, we could be getting this thing completely wrong, and they are really these Omnicron type riflemen or something.
Yeah right! Just give me Sir Dupius, and be done. |

Obviously I went with British Napoleonic, but as a sop to you septics, I could happily live with them being from the 5th Battalion, 60th Royal American Regiment.
I'd be perfectly satisfied though with frontiersmen (so long as at least one had a raccoon hat), or Vietnem-era (so long as they smell of napalm - mmm, victory). I'd not be happy with Napoleonic *French* riflemen. The French didn't have any. OK, they were bound to have had one or two trials, but never fielded as much as an organised company, and certainly werent known for it. One other possible - the French of the 1870 Franco-Prussian War. IIRC they had fairly colourful red and blue uniforms. And they were known for the accuracy of their rifle-fire (when they weren't being cheese-eating surrender monkeys, of course). |

I gotta go with cowboys, would make fielding an all-cowboy army possible
