Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
I prefer "printed" or "original" to the current wording.

I'd go with "original," printed sounds weird to me.

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
Printed is a bit "meta," (in that it draws you out of the game by referring to components of the game) - but this isn't unusual in that references to Army Cards, dice (D20 and attack/defense both), Wound Markers, power markers, and Order Markers all do the same thing.
What I like about "printed" is I see it as air-tight when it comes to rules lawyering. I think "original" is very close to it as well, but I could see people questioning "when" the original is measured from, etc. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

We could always add it to our rules thread...

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
Add what, specifically? "Original"?
I think our goal here should be to use verbiage that's as easy to understand as possible from just looking at the card itself. Not to say that further clarification elsewhere wouldn't be welcome. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
So we want to change this:
VERTIGO PROJECTION When an opponent’s figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Vertigo begins its normal movement, you may immediately roll X combat dice, where X equals that figure’s Move number. For each shield rolled, that figure subtracts 1 from its Move number for the duration of its turn. Androids and destructible objects are not affected by Vertigo Projection. to this: VERTIGO PROJECTION When an opponent’s figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Vertigo begins its normal movement, you may immediately roll X combat dice, where X equals that figure’s printed Move number. For each shield rolled, that figure subtracts 1 from its Move number for the duration of its turn. Androids and destructible objects are not affected by Vertigo Projection. I'm good with that. |

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
Looks good to me, but I hope others will weigh in.
We also still need A3n's vote or time to move to Final Editing, I believe. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)

Printed is not simply a reference to a mechanic. It tells us how the game pieces were made. We do not want to set precedent for a situation where our cards eventually read. Irrational Special Attack Range 4. Attack 4. When this pre-molded figure of Bizzaro attacks with this special attack printed on this Army Card, roll the 20 sided die. If you roll the white number 10 painted on that 20 sided die, you may add 1 to the printed attack or printed defense numbers on this printed Army Card. Clarity should never overwrite common sense. If the card uses the term Original, while I can see a manipulative player suggesting that the cards own stat number adjustments would be taken into account since they are also original, I think a simple Rule could fix that "Original: Something that has not been modified." We would need a rule anyway to define exactly what printed means since it is a term that is not in the classic cards. There are other options as well like base, unmodified, or standard. Anyway, I shared my thoughts and I hope others will too! “Have you ever hoped for something? And held out for it against all the odds? Until everything you did was ridiculous? "

Re: The Book of Vertigo - (Vote for Final Editing)
When we change a figure's Class or Personality, we always say "what is listed on the card" We could do the same thing here, "where X equals the Move number that is listed on the figure's card."
A few more words, but it is constructed similarly to what we've already done. |
