Then if there are no other issues that we can see prior to testing I will state my plan here.

I don't think we need to do large army test with these two right now and my plan is to do a few one on one test with each of them and then a few test with both together. I will then take the extra cost they get when teamed up and proportion it out to each to get a base cost. If there are no issues after that I will then do all the army test with both together.

If no one sees a flaw in this plan...

I propose we move to Initial Playtesting.

I'd rather see them go through the process separately. Whicher you want to bear the brunt of the cost for their synergy goes second, the more standalone one goes first.

Normally I like to put the brunt of the cost on the one providing the synergy but they both have synergies toward each other. I will probably put more on to Shimmer however as Mammoth has been active without her but she not really without him. She was killed off at one time and he was basically tricked/manipulated into continuing to work for with the Fearsome Five while they were "looking for her". With that said I'd like for him to be playable somewhat on his own so I don't want his points to be too skewed by her. Whereas she is an easy target without him so I don't see her being particularly useful in builds without him so I don't mind her being slightly skewed when he's not there. My intention was to do him first as a stand alone before bringing her on board.

I think while typing out my explanation to you I found some clarity within my mind here. Thanks for the push.

Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Rhino (220 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 5 Wounds. Great rolls of three skulls and no blanks (6 hits) 3 times.

TEST 2
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Rhino (220 Points)
Summary: Rhino wins; 3 Wounds. The blank rolls evened out this game and Rhino managed to get in a full powered charge once that game Mammoth 3 wounds early.

Over all Rhino felt stronger in both test with Mammoth getting a little luck to pull out the first one.

TEST 3
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Scorpion (200 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 5 Wounds. Turned into quite a slugfest as Scorpion wasn't getting through with his run and acid spray tactic.

TEST 4
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Scorpion (200 Points)
Summary: Scorpion wins; 3 Wounds. Scorpion used his speed to outmaneuver Mammoth and maintain height and it paid off this time.

TEST 5
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Scorpion (200 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 2 Wounds. One big attack turned this and ended Scorpions day. 4 skulls for 8 hits vs 2 shields.

Loved how this played out. Quick guys can wear him down but it only takes one big hit for the KO.

TEST 6
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Lizard (200 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 2 Wounds. One big KO blow took Lizard out with no chance at healing. 4 skulls for 8 hits vs 2 shields.

TEST 7
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Lizard (200 Points)
Summary: Lizard wins; 2 Wounds. Blanks balanced out for Mammoth in this one and Lizard used his speed and power combination to take him down.

TEST 8
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Lizard (200 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 5 Wounds. A few big hits but no 4 skull KO's in this one led to a pretty balanced game.

These Lizard battles felt fair even in the two lopsided losses (one for each).

TEST 9
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Kraven (200 Points)
Summary: Mammoth wins; 5 Wounds. Kraven dominated here until the last big swing by Mammoth. This was also the longest battle going into the 1st turn of the 4th round. Mammoth won initiative after losing the last two and managed a 4 skull roll for 8 hits against Kraven's 1 shield.

TEST 10
Map: Highways and Dieways - BOV Edition
Units: Mammoth vs. Kraven (200 Points)
Summary: Kraven wins; 2 Wounds. Kraven got in a Nerve punche from height on a tied down Mammoth and successfully pulled off a turn marker. Once again with the double attacks against his prey and the automatic skull for nerve punch, Kraven dominated here. Only difference is that Mammoth didn't have the luck of 4 skulls to pull out the win.

These show that he has some vulnerabilities (One of which is the ranged attacks which I already figured). It also showed that he is still to be feared as one good hit and it's lights out.

Squad Test

- Give a brief overview. I suspected he'd struggle here so I ran a three test against the Hired Guns (130) and he lost 2 out of 3. Lucky big hits don't do much to 1 life figures and he didn't have enough luck to spread around.

I don't think his price should be lowered due to showings against squads so I didn't run any other squad test.

Summary
To fully utilize the available powers my strategy here was to start off with OM1 on Cappy and then follow up with 2 and 3 on Doom and hope to cash in on some double turns with Mammoth due to his weak mind. Being an easy manipulated character my plan for the faction will hit on this a lot with Psimon so this was my attempt to test that. I didn't take any Doombots in this one because I didn't want the swing to skew the test.

Who won?: Team 1 wins; 4 Wounds on Mammoth.

Thoughts: Team 2 started off taking out Doom and then went after Cappy due to not being able to crack Mammoth's defense. After Cappy went down it looked like Team 2 was going to pull it off but Mammoth hit one of his big rolls with height.

Summary
I never put an OM on Mammoth but had plenty of turns with him thanks to his Weak Mind and Dooms Mind Exchange. Cold have used Shimmer to negate a blank a couple of times but still got in a KO shot on Kingpin with a 4 for 4 roll. This however wasn't enough to pull out the win despite Kingpin army missing turns with the lost Order Markers. Thought Vertigo would be a good team up here so that when Mammoth does roll a blank Vertigo could use it to reduce the defense of the defender.

Mammoth put 3 wounds on Kingpin...actually it was 5 but KP only needed 3 for the KO.

Doom had 3 out of 6 free turns with Mammoth using Mind Exchange + Weak Mind

Mammoth goes down in ROUND 2 turn 2
ROUND 1: Team Kingpin win initiative.
2. Doom is successful in MX on Mammoth and they both move up.
3. Doom puts 1 wound on Kingpin

Thoughts: Team 2 started off taking out Vertigo knowing how effective she is as reducing defense and keeping people away. I still think that in the right circumstances he may be worth 215 but for my abilities and creativity I'm thinking closer to 205-210.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: He's powerful, but vulnerable to multi attack and range. He's swingy in a good way.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: He's a lot of fun. No matter how close to death he is there is always the thought that he could get in that one big hit. And both sides know it. He was actually even more fun that I thought. The good thing to think about that even with Shimmer taking away his one blank boosted it's still only 6 hits and the more he is boosted the more likely he rolls multiple blanks so that fear has subsided.

I'd say he's about 200 points but could be 210. 220 Rhino despite losing a close one seemed stronger as did Kraven at 200.

Yeah Kraven is very good. A lot of good figures at 200.
