The triumphant return

And so it has ended......

Another year gone by in the blink of an eye. I am sitting here at home this morning a little exhausted, a little sad, and yet content at heart knowing what just occurred. I am already missing my old friends and I am looking forward to seing my new friends again as well.

I have tried to explain the roller coaster I have just rode for four days to my beloved wife....but to be honest, she just does not get it. So I keep myself happy with my memories and a little smirk everytime the word GenCon comes up. I feel refilled...a glass brimming over with so many memories that it is impossible to grasp all of them at once.

Now it is back to work, back to life. While this is not a bad thing in and of itself, it is a bit depressing. I miss my friends already, the laughs, the games, the drinks, the inside jokes and the companionship.

What is helpful to me is the thought that I will be back. In a little under a year I shall stride back into those hallowed halls and witness my companions glowing and welcoming smiles as we shall begin anew some of the greatest memories of our lives.

So let it be known far and wide.....to my GenCon brothers and sisters, I miss you already...but have no fear my friends....

FOR I SHALL RETURN!!!!!

Until such a time may good fortune smile upon you all.

Just an amazing 5 nights of gaming, luckily I am still on vacation so it is more gaming today ( ok, maybe not scape, but you never know ). I have a few new games I need to show people.

Ah, I had a blast too buddy. What an amazing five days it was, and while grateful for the sleep and rest I get now, I miss the gaming with friends already.

Poor poor Chaos Child...

I am wishing I was back in Indy though...it was kind of a bummer not to get to hang with some folks as much as I would have liked. This year was different for me though. Some switch flipped during the course of the previous visit. While Scape is still very much my favorite game what I really wanted this year was to inhale the show floor. I wanted new games and new sites and I got just that. I demoed and shopped till my little fingers bled and I had an absolute blast.

Next year I will probably be siging up for the Championship and a volunteer session. Beyond that I want to walk back out on to that floor and explore every nook and cranny. So my focus has changed a bit....Heroscape during the year....massive gaming during Gencon!!!! I am already excited to think about all of the great goodies I will find at next years show!!
