When I saw the Protector suggestion I had the opposite reaction. Letting her join up with Kitty Pride & Nightcrawler in an Excalibur build would be exciting to me. Also I came across this....

Japes and YK make solid points, Protector fits here very well mechanically and for the character, feels like a shoe in. Valiant for Thor stuff would be sweet too, but I could see going somewhere else.

I guess I just feel like if we’re using a class to create a specific sub-carveout of Mutants, just sticking any Mutants in that callout feels weird? It’d be like making Beast or whoever an Outcast…not technically wrong, but why? He can already play with all those peeps just by being a Mutant.

I guess I could buy Protector as the class for “Look at me, I’m not American!” style characters. I wrote down some notes for Sabra (the Israeli superhero) a week or two ago, it’d be cool to have her as a Protector to pal around with Captain B, Tracer, etc. Storm kinda falls in there in some portrayals.

Would Warden make any sense as a new class?

I like the change to Gale Force Winds. Her kit in general felt hard to use in 1.0 and I think she got overlooked a lot.

Rather than having a normal range of 4 and abilities with ranges of 5, 6, and 2, I’d love to streamline a bit. Could we do 5 on all the ranges but the SA? (I honestly wouldn’t mind it on the SA either since it does not hit that hard and would make it more likely to hit allies if she tried to abuse it too much).

I'm cool with Protector or Champion. Protector seems like it has a little more support. Warden doesn't sound right to me personally.

Valiant makes sense for the class.

Making all the ranges 5 makes the most sense to me. I would not change the range on the special attack, though - a 5 space radius triple AOE attack seems like far too much. And I think with Gale Force Winds not costing your attack phase, it will still be plenty useful.

What about Mentor.

Double usage here as she was a teacher in the school and someone that was a symbol to aspire to for those in battle.

Plus it's a hook to use for the Students that have been discussed both for Xavier and Avangers Academy.

If you have a Personality preference, let it be known. Valiant was suggested earlier so I'm sticking with that at the moment, but Bats had Stoic as his preferred option.
