S1R_ART0R1US's Maps: New 9/1/2010
9/1/10: Sunken Boneyard
Ronin's use of BftU in his map Fire and Bone inspired me to use the dungeon tiles as "bones" My idea here was that the bones of a dwarf army seeped down through the swamp. The map uses 1 BftU and 1 SotM. Download here. 8/7/10: Blazing Caverns 2.0 I didn't like the even ground lava in the original I made, so I moved some things around. 1 BftU, 1 VW. Download here. 7/28/10: Just Around the Corner
Spoiler Alert!
7/19/10: Blazing Caverns
Spoiler Alert!
10/7/08: Straight and Narrow
Spoiler Alert!
8/31/08: Through Hell and High Water:
Spoiler Alert!
5/17/08: Ruins of Huk-Na-Ju
Spoiler Alert!
4/9/08: Gateway to Valhalla
Spoiler Alert!
??/?/??: Frosted Swamp
Spoiler Alert!
??/?/?? (I think from 2008): Untitled

Feedback much appreciated. Last edited by S1R_ART0R1US; September 1st, 2010 at 09:59 PM. Reason: Because I wanted to! sheesh... |

Frosted Swamp looks pretty awesome. I think it'd be fun to play. Maybe we could try it out at Game Kastle next month, assuming we can get someone to bring a TT along for building.

Re: S1R_ART0R1US's Maps: New 8/31/08
After reading the SotW, I decided to check out your threads.
I'm pretty surprised no one ever commented on Through Hell and High Water. It looks pretty good. I'm a little worried about what powerful fliers like Nilfheim or the Marvels might do in the watery area against melee units, but I do like that it's in an opportunity for Drudge and Microcorp to use their abilities. Lava is one of my favorite terrain types as well, and is definitely my favorite in a more competitive game. I'm curious to see if the footprint could be maintained and the heights lowered a bit if you took out the Marvel set, but still have it fit the original vision for the map. I've been looking around for maps that I might use in my tourney that people probably haven't played as many times before. This might make it in. Last edited by Jexik; April 7th, 2009 at 10:35 AM. |

I like Blazing Caverns. You should submit it to DM7A's Map Contest.

New maps: an old one I found and a new one that uses dead space to separate start zones-the newest thing in mapmaking since split start zones.

Re: S1R_ART0R1US's Maps: New 7/28/2010
I really like to looks of Right Around the Corner and Blazing Cavern.
Blazing Cavern looks like it might benefit from fixed glyphs. The two I'd like to try it out with would be Wound on the water and +1 Attack on the lava. Because Wound is most valuable at the end of a round the action around it would fluctuate, and since +1 Attack is always valuable a lot of units would be taking a lot of risks on the lava to try to control it. My favorite part of RAtC is the glyph on the peninsula between the two start zones. Do you know why your pictures aren't showing up? Fortunately I downloaded the maps, and I was able ti see the pic of each with its build directions. |
