Marvel Campaign
I thought it would be cool if we all pooled together and made a large Marvel Campaign, each scenario of the campaign would basically be a "Comic" if you will. Now each one could be based on a real comic, or just something you made up. For the sake of general playability, I think it would be best if each map and scenario were built using 1 Marvel MS and 1 HS MS. Expansions can be used, but try to be sparing for those that don't have a ton of HS stuff (No more than 1 of any given expansion)
You can use predefined units and I encourage you to do so. Like, I might make a scenario that pits Capt America vs. Red skull in a World War 2 scenario, using the Airborne and some Marro clones as minions. The same policy for Terrain applies to figures as well, try to keep the requirements minimal, if you use say 3x packs of Marro Drones, then I suggest offering alternate figures for people who don't have access. Now when we have enough scenarios, I suggest stitching them all together to create a big campaign that could be downloaded by beginners and printed to allow them to really extend the amount of enjoyment they get out of the game. What do you think, does this seem like a good idea, or not really? I'll work on a scenario tonight, as I have to leave for work soon, and won't have the time. |

I love the idea. I hope it catches on. I will try to build something.

Looks cool - I had made up a bunch of Marvel + HS armies that just beg for some cool scenarios (Silver Surfer and 2 squads of Gorrillanators, anyone?).
I'll see what I can come up with! |

this sounds like a cool idea. I will see what I can do. Superheros have a lot of points so is there a limit on point value?

No, so long as it is something you could build with limited supplies. Also, custom items should be allowed. Like if you wanted to have some crates in the mission you can, they will be packed with the scenario, as will the card for them.
Here is a rough outline of the scenario I have been thinking of. Dr. Doom's Inter Dimensional Portal Dr Doom found an ancient text detailing an inter dimensional portal or unknown origin somewhere in Pennsylvania, it appears to have been used by the Native Americans as a source of great wisdom. His plan is to open the portal and learn it's secrets, and if possible, invite some of the others into this dimension. Player 1 get's Dr. Doom, Red Skull, and Venom. Player 2 get's Captain America, Iron Man, and the Airborne Elite. Scenario Rules: Player 1 must defend the portal (represented by the 7 hex area of Water Tiles) while Player 2 must attempt to destroy Dr. Doom. If Dr. Doom is destroyed the portal closes and the scenario ends in favor of Player 2. On th 3rd round and every round thereafter, roll a d20 on the following chart to see what happens to the portal. 1-5 - Nothing Happens this round. 6-10 - A giant Tentacle reaches out and attacks every model within 2 spaces of the edge of the portal, roll 6 attack dice against each model. 11-15 - Each figure adjacent to the pool get's one wound counter removed. 15-20 - A full squad of Marro Warriors come through the portal. This effect may only occur once per game, if it is rolled again, the result is treated as Nothing Happens. The map would be the portal one one side, where Player 1 would start, Player 2 would begin further away, where they'd have to navigate some ruins and such to get to the portal. Here is the map, need to get a PDF printing program though. |

I love this idea. I will start working on something soon. I had thread along this line going in Marvel discusion with the twist of just using the Marvel set to build the best map you could. Part of my reasoning is cause I don't have a ton of terrain, one Master, one Castle, and now Marvel. So this idea fits me great. Just need to brain storm

graywolf42 - People like you are the reason (in a good way) I started this thread, I wanted to make sure that even someone without a lot of stuff could play the campaign. I am hoping people when they make the maps will take into consideration that some people may not have a lot of stuff, therefore make sure some of the stuff can be removed or replaces without too much hassle.

I'd like to attempt to work up a scenario as well. I think it would be fun to link scenarios together into a mini-campaign. Maybe we could cobble together a loose map of a city where various "scenes" take place.
I was going to go with something (seemingly) innoculs like a Bank Heist. Which ends up being a rues or diversion and part of a much deeper and more sinister plot. Anyway, it is likely to involve the use of Krav Mag units along with some liftable/drestructable elements for the Supers to take advantage of. I'll post more as I flesh out the ideas. But expect a portion of a city block and all miscellanious debris that will entail. ~Floyd |
