R2: Things get yanked around more, Reed was a little worried from last round, but goes down before his third turn here.
R3: Thing gets some damage in, but can't roll well enough against Kal, as Sue goes down here.
R4: Thing gets clobbered.

General thoughts: Magnetic Manipulations is much stronger when going off of the skulls. The Autowound part (which I skipped on the one applicable moment) may be a bit too much if trying to keep her under 230. The lightning fast kill on Torch really paved the way for the stomp here.


Who won and how many wounds did they have? Superman Family wins. 7 wounds on Superman. No one else destroyed or wounded. Starman never moved.

So yeah, I like the Lift over the Lockdown. Nice for the faction, like the baked in thematic synergy with Steel and Lois, less to remember at most moments. Feels like a winner there of a change. Main question is whether or not to keep the auto on the Manipulations. Could also see dropping defense one, as she felt a bit surprisingly bulky (which may be in comparison to the offensive potential she felt like she had there).

General Flow:
R1: Things start very rough, as Beast and Iceman do a solid job disabling order markers. Kal gets a wound here.
R2: Some solid early control from the X Men, but Superman manages to one shot Lois to get things moving.
R3: Big damage on Kal, Jon, and Lana from an eyeblast and an iceblast (Turn 3 OM lost on Kal), but he responds by killing Cyclops. Lana moves Kal to be safe from Beast’s negotiation.
R4: XMen try to use a defense roll to reposition for an OM remove on Kal, but Lana moves him away, then successfully blasts Angel out of the protection range (and into oblivion).
R5: Jon goes down, and Iceman removes OM 3 on Kal.
R6: Iceman kills Superman, Starman takes the markers. Lana goes down swinging by forcing the X reveal on Xavier. She goes down, but it gives the opening for Starman to finish Xavier off.
R7, R8, and R9: An intense back and forth occurs after Starman takes out Beast handily, ending with Iceman reigning supreme.
General thoughts: Movement was good and helpful, throw wasn’t too vicious here (1 auto wound could have been done on Xavier a time when Iceman was moved but not hurt, wouldn’t have ultimately changed anything). Multiple times the best reposition place was away from allies, so didn’t come up much. The movement is still a nice strategic thing, and I honestly liked that more than stopping my stuff from getting thrown by Jean.

Who won and how many wounds did they have? XMen win with 1 life remaining.

After a second game I feel much better about the proposed changes. The blank autowound would have only impacted once, and it makes for an interesting strategic thing when you are unable to really do much damage (like only 1 skull rolled). Am dropping defense by 1, as she has felt a bit too sturdy in my games.

Summary: Hot d20s on both sides - Lana was able to shut down Jean/Phoenix's movement powers for basically the whole game, which was huge. (The "enemy figures must stop their movment" bit really didn't come into play, just because the offensive threats were rangey types). On the flipside, Spider-Girl and Jean were able to contain Supes pretty well with their d20 passive powers, which gave the Mutants a big edge. Superteam struggled to really get an offensive going and lost.

Notes: failed to wound Armor with her special attack - would have moved her, but Jean prevented it. Prevented Jean from throwing anyone five times. Prevented Phoenix from doing it thrice. Staved off a 4-skull SA from Jubilee that annihilated Krypto and put 2 wounds on Clark. Destroyed Armor with her normal attack (whiffed defense). Dealt 1 wound to Phoenix during the time Phoenix and Jubilee wore her down.

Summary: some really big momentum shifts in this one - seemed like the Kryptonians had it early, but then Phoenix swung things back in her favor for a bit. Ultimately Jean's unblockables didn't come through for her though, and Big Blue took the game.

Superwoman had a pretty big role in positioning early, and all her powers felt useful here. The weakness to SAs was her Achilles Heel and she ended up getting taken down by Jubilee. At first just getting her health chipped away, but then she whiffed a defense roll against a big attack and went down.

Notes: advanced Superboy twice with EML. Failed to wound Jubilee with her SA, but wounded Armor with the blank effect and engaged Jubilee to Krypto. Took a wound from Jubilee's SA (twice). Put 2 wounds on Jubilee and 1 on Scott with her SA. Moved Superman to height with EML. Took 3 wounds from Jubilee and went down.

Tests from FreshFoods. 2 losses here, putting her at 1-2 with after the defense drop, 2-3 if you add the pre-defense drop. 2-1 in games within the faction, so may need to stay there at 230 to account for that, open to thoughts there.

Mostly early movement. Bad rolls on Denizens of Hell only lets Jason and Leatherface move up, while the Super Family gets the center ground. Jason takes 2 wounds from Superman.

Malice places a Bubble Marker on Superman. Superman absolutely destroys Jason, killing him. Superwoman tosses Leatherface and deals 2 wounds to him. She and Superman go in, dealing some damage to Leatherface and Pinhead. Malice deals 2 wounds to Superboy.

ROUND 3 : Slasher initiative. (Thanks Leatherface!)
Strong round from the Super family. Pinhead and Malice get a few wounds off, but the Family kills Pinhead, leaving Malice by herself.

Superman flies up and drops 3 wounds on Jason. Malice gets a solid roll and takes out Superboy. Superboy takes out Jason, but Malice is consistently wounding him with her Bubble Marker, and she puts a wound on Superwoman to end the round.

Superman struggles to get through Malice’s Force Field, but Superwoman drops a tree on her for a wound. Superman takes some heavy damage this round from Bubble Suffocation, and has one life left.

Superman goes down to Relentless Assault. Malice and Jason fail to wound Superwoman, but she kills Jason and puts 1 wound onto Malice.

Post-Game Thoughts : Long game with lots of attrition! I thought the Super Family was gonna sweep this, but they just could get through Malice’s Personal Force Field. Superwoman did a ton of damage, but she had a bunch of opportunities to attack. Felt like a balanced game, Super Family just didn’t have any damage off of a D20 or something like that.

All Might goes in and quickly takes out Wolverine ; The Thing takes her OM. Green Arrow deals 2 wounds to Cage after using Arrow to the Rescue and getting off 2 attacks. Cage deals 2 wounds to All Might. All Might Detroit Smashes Cage, dealing 1 wound. The Thing is swinging away, dealing 3 wounds to Superwoman. Scarlet Spider swings away and webs up All Might, dealing 2 wounds in the process.

ROUND 3 : Blue Team initiative.
Superwoman goes down in the first turn to Cage and The Thing. All Might breaks out of his web and attacks Cage, but rolls all shields on an 8 die attack roll! Cage and The Thing lay into All Might, but can’t break through his defense. All Might retaliates, and kills Cage after he whiffs his roll. Green Arrow deals 2 wounds to The Thing. The Thing smashes All Might, he lives the first hit with GBPU, but dies to the second attack. Green Arrow deals another wound to The Thing.

ROUND 4 : Blue Team initiative.
Green Arrow is playing a hit and run game, he takes 1 wound.

ROUND 5 : Red Team initiative.
Green Arrow keeps up the cat and mouse game, but on the last OM of the round Scarlet takes him out with Impact Webbing, leaving just Kelex.

Scarlet Spider quickly kills Kelex with Impact Webbing. Blue Team wins!

Post-Game Thoughts : Really aggressive, fun game. Superwoman didn’t perform nearly as well this game, but she lived a decently long time as a human shield for All Might.

Thoughts on the Tested Unit's Cost, Balance, and Draftability : I dig her. I think she feels about right at 230, and I can see her fitting into Justice League or Super Family builds perfectly fine. I didn’t normal attack at all, but it feels like her special is designed to be used more often.

General Thoughts on the Tested Unit : Two loses, but they were both pretty close and she did some real work in the first game. Seems like she's designed to rarely normal attack, if that’s what you were going for then she’s a solid unit to me. I could maybe see her dropping about 10 points, if she's coming in a little light on other tests. She’s not as much of a heavy hitter as other units you’ll use in her builds, but the movement manipulation she provides is super useful.
