Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
NAME = DOCTOR FATE
SECRET IDENTITY = KENT NELSON SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CHAMPION PERSONALITY = RESOLUTE SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 5 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 370 TWIST OF FATE At the start of the game, roll a 20-sided die. Place the result and 7 gold Fate Markers on this card. After a player rolls the 20-sided die for initiative or a special power, you may immediately remove a Fate Marker from this card to swap that player's rolled 20-sided die with the 20-sided die on this card. After swapping, that player must use the new result instead. MYSTIC ORDER Instead of moving normally, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 7 or lower, choose 2 to 4 Unique Heroes within 7 clear sight spaces of Doctor Fate. Re-organize the Wound Markers on all chosen Heroes’ Army Cards until all chosen Heroes are within 1 wound of each other. MAGICAL DEFENSE When Doctor Fate is attacked by an opponent's figure that does not have the Magical Defense special power, the most wounds Doctor Fate can take for this attack is one. Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
Very excited for this one. A Fate that isn't super factional and isn't over costed by nature of being one of the first Magical Defense figures (or like the first start zone bomb enabler). Dice manipulation feels fine here as it feels like an extension of Doctor Fate. Twist of Fate doesn't feel super interesting to me right now, as it doesn't feel like something I'd want to do often without Zatanna around. No blanks rolled isn't that hard to pull off on five dice (I say as someone who's had it happen a frustrating amount with Martian Manhunter).

Fate looks cool! I think a real nasty army core would be Fate, Liu Kang, and Zatanna II. At least Zatanna is thematic so I don't really mind! He'll be pretty swingy since he has the CHANCE to heal 5 or deal 5 autowounds, but it'll be so rare that I'm not concerned yet. |

Oh yeah definitely situations where manipulation would be good to use on it, just a lot of things (like a lot of combats) I think saving it for would be the general preference.

Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
Could definitely be nasty paired with Zatanna and in the JL Faction. Looking forward to this one.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
I’ll also pimp Tarot Spell: Magician and Tarot Spell: Temperance, since they seem like good pairings here, especially if you’re bringing Zatanna along.

Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
Would one of the following alterations to Twist of Fate be preferable, or do we feel how it is currently is worth giving up an attack to attempt/use? What's more interesting?
A: Lessened effect, but gives up his movement instead of his attack. Quote:

Re: The Book of Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson) (II) (Breathing)
C is obviously a pretty direct upgrade in most situations, but it’s definitely interesting.
Honestly a lot of my opinion just comes down to how powerful the LD wants this version of Fate to feel. (And Fate is obviously the kind of character who is extremely flexible in point value.) |
