Character Bio - After the death of Negative Man and the rest of the original Doom Patrol (don't worry, they all got better), the Negative Spirit reappeared and bonded with a Russian cosmonaut, Colonel Valentina Vostok, who became Negative Woman. This was the first hint that the Negative Spirit, once thought to just be a manifestation of Larry Trainor's consciousness, may be a bit more than that.

When the Chief resurrected Larry through cloning technology, the Negative Spirit decided to fuse Larry with a doctor, Eleanor Poole, to create a new entity known as Rebis. Most recently the Doom Patrol have leaned that the Negative Spirit is actually an alien from a Negative Dimension known as Keeg Bovo.

NEGATIVE SPIRIT POSSESSION
The Negative Spirit does not start the game on the battlefield. At the start of the game, and whenever the Negative Spirit would be destroyed place the Negative Spirit on the card of a figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power. If you no longer control any figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power, destroy the Negative Spirit.

NEGATIVE ENERGY INTANGIBILITY
The Negative Spirit can move through all figures, Fortress Walls, and obstacles, and is never attacked when leaving an engagement. Instead of attacking, you may choose up to 3 figures the Negative Spirit passed through this turn and roll an unblockable attack die against each figure.

I'm still not super hot about him being an Event Hero but Thunderbolt is a precedent and I guess it's enigmatic and mysterious enough that it falls into that same category as Mr. Mxyzptlk... it just feels kind of cheap!

My only real concern here is if we should be explicit about him being destroyed/undestroyed and stuff when he blinks onto Larry's card. Maybe just go with this instead?

My other thought here is that the "remove from the battlefield" language makes any temporary control figures a hard counter for him. Like, Puppet Master takes control of Larry, suddenly you don't control him, the Spirit is no longer on the battlefield and cannot (if I'm reading Larry's card right) be brought back. Which would be rough!

So maybe overhaul it totally like this:

NEGATIVE SPIRIT POSSESSION
The Negative Spirit does not start the game on the battlefield. You may place the Negative Spirit on the card of any figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power:
- at the start of the game.
- if the Negative Spirit would be destroyed.
- if you no longer control any figure with the Negative Spirit Host special power.

This opens it up to placing the card on an opponent's Negative Man if you choose, but that's not really a good idea, so you'd never do that outside of the temporary control clause. We don't need to do it as bullet points but I feel like it's a bit cleaner than a string of clauses with commas.

Actually, I don't think that works on second thought. When Neg Man is destroyed, this makes it sound like you can just leave the Spirit on the battlefield.
