Of course, I don't have a Kickstarter problem. I can quit anytime I want to. I just have a couple of starred projects I'm watching...

Maybe completely quitting cold turkey isn't necessary, it may do more harm than good, as in shocking the system. Moderation is the key.

Kind of like ice cream. While having some every night is not good for me, it doesn't mean I have to quit it altogether. In moderation, I can have ice cream a couple times a week. It's just a matter of self control

OK, it's not a board game, but it is a couple of really cool decks of cards designed by one of our own:

Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide shot selection!

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

Here's one that no one will be surprised to hear I'm backing:

Kill Shakespeare

I had a chance to meet the guys who have made the original graphic novels, Kill Shakespeare, at the Shakespeare Association last spring. They seem quite smart and to be having a lot of fun creating an alternate amalgam Shakespeare world--all as graphic novels. Very cool stuff.

Now they have got the guys who made Yedo to make them what looks to be a very solid boardgame set in their alternative Shakespearean world.

Here is a link to someone who has reviewed the prototype.

I try not to fall for hype, but this one definitely has me excited. Check it out.

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

I wasn't going to back another KS for awhile, but my buddy in my game group asked if others would go in on oddball Aeronauts KS to help get the cost down so I jumped in. We've got several others in on it now to from the group so now it's only 10 British Pounds each instead of 15 Pounds. So that's $16.75 instead of $25.12. Seems like a fun little game that you can literally play anywhere.

Anyone else get on Pairs? I'm pretty sure we're going to like it. I also think it'll be popular, so I grabbed 4 decks and I'm counting on a couple of them to have trade value. We'll see, this was also possibly a stupid idea.

Actually, any of my local peeps thinking about it, just count on trading something for one of mine. I'm sure we can work something out.

I backed it yesterday as soon as I saw there was a deck by Phil and Kaja Foglio. I went for 5 decks because I liked several of the art decks, and I get the cool coin.

I may be interested in one of those. By the way, how many projects have you Kickstarted at this point? Seems like the number is climbing...

For anyone interested in minatures and neat themes, I have found myself going "all in" yet again for Fireteam Zero. I can't remember if I mentioned this one before or not, but the first Kickstarter cancelled and then started over a month or so later with new pledge levels, etc. The game is based on a decent series of e-books by a boardgamer named Mike Langlois. The premise is that you're part of a squad of soldiers during WWII tasked with hunting down occult enemies. The books take place 60 years later but involve some of the same characters/bad guys. The game looks to be fun, but if you don't have room in your collection for another cooperative, squad-based, tactical minis game, you may want to pass on it (wait, can you ever have too many cooperative, squad-based, tactical minis games?).
