Re: Best 90 point hero?

1. Survivability - Ne-gok-sa - A tank, he wins this catagory hands down.

2. Support - Atlaga wins here, barely. While he supports kyrie in a huge way, in a non-kyrie army, he doesn't shine as bright. Ne-gok-sa can be an awesome support unit in a roman build, so a close second for him.

3. Versatility - Crixus - He's as versatile as they come. One sheild defense, a solid attack, pair him with the Capuan gladiators and he rocks. Put him in steamroller, and he dominates.

4. Point Bargin - Hawthorne - He wins here in a non theme army.

5 Tourny - Crixus - Unless playing a kyrie or roman build, the versatile Crixus wins here as well.

6. Dungeon - I have removed my answer due to its unpopularity among the masses, and to avoid being burned at the stake by the same said masses.

73 tournaments. 175 - 145 - 1 overall record. 6 tournament wins.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

Overall, I'm inclined to put Atlaga at the top of the heap. He fits pretty well into just about any build, and he's just beastly (untill he starts taking hits).

1. Best in Survivability

The consensus here seems to be NGS. I think you could make a fairly decent argument that Crixus's higher attack helps him get guys off of him and take fewer hits, though I don't think it makes enough of a difference to for him to move up to the number one position.

2. Best in Support

Atlaga. Minions and Sentinals (to a lesser extent) with five move are ridiculous. I feel like Warden 816 is a little underrated here, he does give +1 move to an interesting group of units (though they are mostly B and C list guys) and he has nice offensive capabilities and decent defence.

3. Best in Versatility

Atlaga. He's an assassin, a clean up unit, and he's a cheerleader. No one else in the 90pt range has that many roles.

4. Best in Point Bargain

Probably Ne-Gok-Sa here. There really aren't any . . . economy units at 90 points, really most everything at this cost is worth exactly what it costs (except Parmenio) so I just have to go with Mindshackle value here.

5. Best in Tournament Setting

Ne-Gok-Sa, Crixus, and Atlaga are all contenders here. Crixus is fairly limited to a single build, and while it's a good army it has some inherant flaws. Atlaga has his primary army (minions) and that has a few options, plus Atlaga can be justified in an army that doesn't have any Kyrie in it. NGS, well, you really want Romans if you're playing him and you have a few different builds you can choose. I've got to call this one a draw steamroller (Crixus) has a lot of power, Atlaga can be good in a few different ways, and NGS plays in a traditionally good army that may make a comeback now that more people have them.

6. Best in Dungeon Setting

Crixus. Crixus is awsome in a dungeon crawl setting. Now I haven't tried NGS or the Feral Troll in this setting yet, but Crixus has never dissapointed in my playtesting. One Shield Defense really helps out (compared to many other heros) when you're receiving more attacks per turn than you can dish out. That five attack pretty much guarantees you're do some damage with each attack; meaning less wasted order markers (which lose you games in a dungeon crawl setting way more than in a normal game).

I don't need no instructions to know how to rock.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

I picked Crixus because 1: He can survive anything, at least for four turns. 2: he can support others while they retreat. 3: he is versatile cuzz hes useful for either attacking, defending, or being a distraction. 4: for the point value , he can slay an 500 point army on mildly good days. the other two dont really aply to my game style.

Unless facing Squaddies, such as the 10th Reg. Then he's doomed.

1. Best in Survivability~NGS, absolute tank.

2. Best in Support~Atlaga~ I'll take some 5 move Sentinels, or 6 move Imperium!

3. Best in Versatility~Atlaga~Boosts movement of Kyrie, can one-shot ANYONE (Krug ), and 4 attack with range is just the icing on the cake.

4. Best in Point Bargain~Hawthorne~Blind Rage on a good rolling day can be murderous. Plus SITB hardly ever comes into play. 6 life, 4 attack and defense is awesome. (Killing 3-4 4th in one turn? Sign me up!)

5. Best in Tournament Setting~Crixus~Good for end-game, since he'll take at least 2 turns to kill, unless he whiffs.

6. Best in Dungeon Setting~Hawthorne~Smallish maps, plenty of cover, and monsters that his special owns could make him good for an add on in the campaign.

My sig would like to say that it is a sig. Let's all wave hi to the sig.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

The cheerleader concept seems to fit this point range best, so I will start with Atlaga for the kyrie squads and then Warden 816 for the Blasts. After that, Sir Hawthorne makes a great Human Champion.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

Atlaga takes my #1 90-point slot without any hesitation.

1. Best in Survivability-He doesn't take the raw survivability catagory like Crixus or Ne-Gok-Sa, but with flight and range he can easily gain and hold height or keep out of melee (I have anecdotal evidence of his out-survivaling Crixus from NHSD this year when it was down to GeneralGrevious13's Crixus versus my Atlaga and I was able to hop around the map and gradually snipe him to death. )

2. Best in Support-Speed boost to all the Kyrie? Yes, please! Minions with Move 5 rock!

3. Best in Versatility-Cheerleader+Cleanup+Autowin Ability=Unbeatable Versatility.

4. Best in Point Bargain-BotWW or Move Boost make this guy worth 90, and he gets both.

5. Best in Tournament Setting-Since he leads all the other general catagories it makes sense for him to lead this one, too.

6. Best in Dungeon Setting-This one I'm not as sure about. I think that Crixus might take this catagory because of the generally smaller maps, but with BotWW resetting after each encounter Atlaga might also win this. I think that I have to play a few scenarios before I nail this one down.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

1. Best in Survivability
Ne-Gok-Sa hands down. Atlaga drops too quickly when any ranged gets on him. The Feral Troll has too small a defense. Crixus is only better with Sparticus and that army is limited. The rest don't measure up.

2. Best in Support
Atlaga wins. There's a lot of good Kyrie moreso than scouts, soldiers, and gladiators.

3. Best in Versatility
Atlaga also wins here. He can play a lot of roles. Warden 816 is also pretty versatile. Too bad there aren't enough good scouts. If there were he'd probably beat Atlaga.

4. Best in Point Bargain
NGS beats out all others, hands down. A hugely defensive figure that is worth more than his points with a power that can completely swing the game around is easily the best value on the list. Not to mention that he rocks with the Legos.

5. Best in Tournament Setting
A 90pt intimidation factor with high defense, excellent bonding options, and a potentially game-altering ability is much better than, for instance, Atlaga who, if he drops from range pressure early on, could spell certain doom for your Kyrie based army, or Crixus who just hates the Stingers with height and if he drops the Glads all suffer.

6. Best in Dungeon Setting
Crixus, Ne-Gok-Sa, and Atlaga could share this spot. Ne-Gok-Sa is probably the most well-rounded of the bunch, but any aforementioned could be very useful. It's too hard to tell without having tested them. Three-way tie. For now.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

I'm going with Crixus on this one. I love Atlaga, but this guy is a walking tank that can take it as well as he dishes it out and he becomes even more so when Spartacus is on the board. He is the spear head for any 500pt Steamroller army, but can stand on his own in any setting as well.

Re: Best 90 point hero?

Parmenio

1. Best in Survivability - Parmenio
While he only has a defense of 3, if you pray really hard to the Greek God Aries, there is a good chance he will survive muliple attacks from the 4th mass. unfortunally this does not work against female figures since Aries considers himself a bit of a player

2. Best in Support - Parmenio
Making a figure Disiplined is always a good idea, even if you don't have any sacred band squads. Condiser the look on your oppoents face when you tell him Krug is now Dispilined--Priceless--and makes you 287% more likely to win. There is also something about helping Sacred band figures survive attacks but really who is going to use that?

3. Best in Versatility - Parmenio
No range + No flying + No specail attack + No real use beyond working with the Sacred Band = Most Versitile Figure in the game.

4. Best in Point Bargain - Parmenio
Bargain? Bargain? This guy should cost 30 bejillion points for his mysterious "Hidden" powers and imposing figure. However if that was the case he would not beable to win this vote.

5. Best in Tournament Setting - Parmenio
When was the last time that some one won a tournament without including Parmenio? Never that when! Case closed.

6. Best in Dungeon Setting - Parmenio
With shiny armor and that fasionalbe skirt, no one looks better in the dungeon. Even the shadow tiles won't beable to bring him down. Coupled with his uncanny ablity to make any one hero displined (required for running through scary dungeons) he will be on the minds of all quest go'ers.
