Really fast and furious match here. Skull pulls Reed away from Sue and he and Carol team up to take him out fast. Johnny flies in, puts a couple wounds on Star-Lord and Red Skull with Flame On 4, and then risks it all on a big Supernova that really pays off, OHKOing Angel, finishing off Red Skull and heavily wounding Star-Lord and Carol. Ben mops up most of the rest of Carol's team, but Vulture manages to evade Ben for a while and do some damage with the Cube to even the odds a little.

Super-Skrull runs interference for Team Star-Lord, keeping Carol off the backs of the lynchpin figures while their turn chain machine starts disassembling the Avengers. Carol eventually manages to punch through Rl'nnd and start killing OMs on the lynchpins, though, going on a big run that sees her win the day, by a nose.

Team Kang manages to tie up and distract the Avenging Guardians with Blob and Robin, but Angstrom Levy and Valkyrie under-perform. The Guardians eventually, gradually work their way through the layered defensive powers of Kang's team and win the day, with Carol leading the charge. Team Kang doesn't quite have the big attacks available to punch through the likes of Carol. Carol comes through the fray with only a scratch, and most of her team survives as well, if only just.

The Sif + Angel + Star-Lord combo is really nice for Carol - combined with Field Commander, she gets a lot of mobile support.

Supes' plan is to have Mar-Vell run interference for the reduced-defense Carol with Symbol of Hope + Cosmic Awareness, but Mar-Vell goes down a little quicker than expected. That, combined with how long Thor sticks around, gives the Asgardians all the room they need to score a big win here.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 8 wounds to Thor in 9 attacks (destroyed), 1 wound to Sif in 1 attack
• Field Commander: pulled an OM off Superman

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I accidentally played her at 6 Life instead of 5 in these games... so, unintentional design tweak there. Felt alright at 350, though. Updated the SP to reflect how she was actually played in these games.

She felt a little swingy here, which isn't all bad. Some really big performances, but an overall losing record. She can be very intimidating to lower-level figures that rely on normal attacks, but bigger bruisers can give her pause about when to go on all-out offense.

The basic feel is definitely right to me, but the 'swing for the fences' angle does give her a little swing that makes her tricky to pin down. Open to thoughts and number-tweaking going forward.

EDIT: Right now I think my preference would be to knock her defense down to 6, just so that lower-level figures have a slightly better shot at wounding her, and keep her life up at 6.

I liked her at 5 Life to match with Ms. Marvel but, eh, she's got nebulous space powers, so tweaks like that make sense enough. Glad she played well, always a fan of swing.

I don't think I've ever voted for more Defense and less life so the lower defense and more life is fine by me.

Alright, updated the SP. I'd like to see at least a game or two with Martian Manhunter (II), to make sure we're exploring the Champion synergy fully, but I'm not gonna insist on being the one to run that test, and I'm otherwise satisfied with the initial.
