The Book of Psycho-Man
The Book of Psycho-Man _________________________________________________________________C3G MARVEL WAVE 22 COSMIC FORCES Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Secret Invasion set. Its model number and name are #043 / Psycho-Man. Character Bio - From a Microverse, Psycho-Man had to build an armored exo-skelton to even interact with Earth. Maybe he was compensating—just saying. Anyway, his objective, like most villains, was to subjugate us. His weapon—a Control Box designed to affect our emotions. Isn’t there enough hate in the world already? _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
NAME = PSYCHO-MAN
SPECIES = TRAANIAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CONQUEROR PERSONALITY = MANIPULATIVE SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 4 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = 250 CONTROL-BOX Before taking a turn with Psycho-Man, you may choose an opponent’s Unique Hero within 4 clear sight spaces of Psycho-Man and choose one of the other special powers on this card that has not yet been chosen this round. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 6 or higher, place the appropriate gray Control Marker on the chosen Hero’s Army Card. While that marker is on that Hero's card, the chosen power affects that Hero. At the end the round, remove the Control Marker from that card. Androids and figures with the Mental Shield special power are not affected by Control-Box. FEAR An affected Hero subtracts 2 from its Move and Defense numbers. DOUBT An affected Hero subtracts 2 from its Move and Attack numbers. HATE When an affected Hero takes a turn, all of its special powers are negated for that turn. The player controlling that Hero must choose a figure that is nearest to it and move it normally along a shortest path towards the chosen figure until it is adjacent to the chosen figure or has exhausted its movement. The affected Hero must attack the chosen figure, if possible. For the Art Dept:

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
"Control-Box" should have a dash in it. I think "Control Marker" sounds better than "Control Box Marker."
Otherwise this is pretty cool and straightforward, I like it... I assume there'll be 3 Markers, one with each emotion? My only concern is that Hate seems a bit weirdly worded. When must they attack? What if they're engaged with an opponent's figure? It needs some more details I think. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
I was correcting as you were posting.
Something like this? HATE When affected figures take a turn, they must move adjacent to and attack the nearest friendly figure, if possible, adding 1 to their Attack number. |

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
I think it could make for some wonky situations but that's a lot more clear.

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
Might have to FAQ some stuff, but I think that's pretty clear. It's clear when/how far they can possibly move, and it's clear when they can possibly attack within the rules of the game.
Pretty cool. Interesting that these are all single use powers and that they affect common squads by the card full. I worry that with only being able to use each of the three powers once per game, his impact will be limited and his cost will drop a bit. You could easily have him standing around after the third round essentially toothless and feeling like a waste of points. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I like the design though. Very cool. ".... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above Cambridge if sometimes in its box of sky lavender and cornerless, the moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy" |

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
It isn't clear what happens when they can't move adjacent though.

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
True. I was reading that they only attack if they move adjacent, but I could see people reading it that you attack if possible whether you move adjacent or not. That could definitely use clarification.

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
Ok, I'll work on the clarity issue.
@Bats -- just because the marker is removed at the end of the round doesn't mean he can't place it again. It isn't being removed from the game. |

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
Gotcha. I see on rereading it that it doesn't say anything about the markers starting on his card or about moving the markers from his card. I guess I'm just used to that mechanic.
That definitely makes him much more worth his cost, though! C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Psycho-Man - Design Phase
I agree, two main issues - are "move adjacent to" and "attack" the same idea or separate? And if you can only do one or the other, what happens (are you allowed to move/attack wherever/whoever you want)?
I also presumed you could reuse the markers, by the way... but it probably wouldn't hurt to specify. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!
