High damage output armies. Hydras x2 and Sam won. I went 2-2 with Raelin, Incendiborgs, and Siiv. If only *someone's* Atlaga didn't one-shot RAGNAROK's Q9 early, and *someone else's* Hydra didn't block 3-4 skulls exactly for 2 full rounds, we would have one that game.

Round Robin Army Draft

The first round, everyone plays the army they brought. After that, all the armies are placed on a table. The person in last place gets first pick of a new army to play the next round, then it moves up the line until the first place person picks their new army. Each round everyone will draft a new army. You cannot draft the same army twice.

You can bring a 500 pt army, sure.

We are just mixing up the point totals to let people try out new armies. This is also the first of this type of event too, which makes it more interesting.

My nephews and I played this format almost two years ago in a Michigan tournament (I drove up to take them to this as they lived nearby where the event was held -- it was their first tourney ever).

It was a LOT of fun. Overpowered builds will get chosen right away by the players with the lesser win/loss records, so as Jacob put it, it can be a form of Reverse the Whip, but not necessarily against you. Really depends on how you are doing...if you remain undefeated, chances are you're playing with weaker armies at each stage, but you're also playing someone about the same record as you, so they're in the same predicament. In theory, it's possible the armies will roughly mirror each other in potential strength at each level, but it really comes down to what people pick, what they're comfortable/familiar with, etc. As you can imagine, the one Q9 army that made an appearance was the first pick each round.
