@Tornado , just wanted to let you know I watched the first episode of Firefly a couple of days ago, on my birthday. Not going to lie, it took me a while to get into it - I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that - but by the end, I was really, really enjoying it! Look forward to watching more, though I question how an outlaw ship can get by for what's implied to be a decently long time before the series starts with no-one with any medical knowledge... good job Simon arrived when he did, if anything like the first episode happened before he turned up...

Yeah, Simon does get a lot of work to do once he joins the crew. I would give you an answer to your question on how they got by without him, but that would just take away from some of the future episodes. Be happy to talk about the series after you finish watching the first and only season, plus the movie. Got to watch the movie too.

Cool. The first one is a little long, being a double episode.
Fox thought the same and made them make a new pilot which is now episode two, the Train Job. One of the only good decisions they made as that episode has my favorite bad guy.

Be thinking of possible powers for Serenity and the crew.

Well, we just watched the second...
If there was any doubt in my mind I was going to enjoy this series before, it's gone now. Thank you, chap - it's doubtful I'd have tried this if not for you ('space western' isn't a description that would have enthralled me), but my Mum and I are bloody loving it!
Oh, and it has possibly the best intro theme I've ever heard - my Mum has it playing on YouTube as I type this!
