Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I think Clingy should stay. The way to get him down in points could be to deter his stats some. He's a doll, can he really move as fast as a human? What about 3 or even 2 move? He'll be moving with Clingy a lot, so his normal move won't matter much. A life drop could also help. His defensive power means he's really only going to take one wound in a turn, so even with say 3 life he could live quite a while. If this were the approach, I'd like to make the defensive power work against all attacks, not just normals.
Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I like Clingy here because, while the Slashers should end up a coherent faction, I think they should stand alone as well - because, as characters, they don't usually "team up." They're solo acts in their own films. Does Chucky have any friends? Other than... Bride of Chucky? Never seen the movies.
I don't necessarily like Doll here, either. Seems a bit too specific. Is Golem too much of a stretch? But the overall draft seems fun. Possibly annoying, so we should keep an eye on that. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
Sounds like people are wanting to keep Clingy.
Perhaps we take a different approach to the Unassuming power? Something less defensively decent. Maybe even the "until Chucky deals 1 wound" approach, thus opening the gate once he shows his cards? Then let that, Clingy, and Laugh it Off make up the design? Not sure. I do like the alternative version where he'd basically use teammates to keep the heat off himself. Conversely, Wisecrack would be another good reuse here. Chucky should be that annoying presence that people get tired of. |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I do like Clingy, I just think it makes him very hard to fit into the <100 range, especially with Laugh It Off on the card. I think something probably has to give there.

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
There is some carving needed for sure. It doesn't feel quite right to me yet. I can usually tell it's right when I get excited about it.
I think the elements of Unassuming Threat, Clingy, and Laugh it Off are all in the ballpark, just need retooling and modifying, with a little less safeguarding/hard to kill elements and instead a little more Chucky pizzazz in its place. The player controlling him should feel like they are controlling a possessed serial killer doll, with an attitude, that loves terrorizing people in twisted comical ways. The opponent should feel like "**** this ****ing doll!" |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
What if Unassuming Threat triggered off of dice rolls instead of end or round?
Whenever the foe rolls a blank(attack or defense), you get to roll an unblockable. He becomes a lot more annoying then. |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
Part of the reason clingy is so good on Ragdoll is that once he clings to one of your figures you have to attack him. I think my earlier proposal for Unassuming would mitigate that issue since it stated he didn't prevent your engaged figures from attacking at range. Then once he deals that first wound, he can be targeted by ranged attacks and special powers at range, which significantly lowers his survivablility from that point forward.

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I don't have much to add here other than to say, I think you all are on the right track. Something that keeps Chucky innocent until he deals damage is on the mark. Also
@Scapemage
yes, its thematic for Chucky to be up to human speed, in fact, I'd argue he is faster. (Chucky is the exception to my horror movie issues, for some reason, I just like his movies. I believe I've seen them all, though its been some years for a few of them.)
EDIT: On a related note, I love Jigsaw as well, and would love to see him done with a power called Elaborate Death Trap. Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
How about an approach like this, sort of hitting the themes of all the brainstormed directions thus far:

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I think Play Dead should require other friendlies around in order for him to go Inanimate, just to prevent him from drawing out the endgame. I really dig the direction, though.
