Gatekeepers? Besides feeling the onus on the backers with these campaigns, we now feel the responsibility of trying to improve the game by pointing out what we dislike, and being the reason new backers are not joining?

Hasbro has done little to sell this to new buyers and many veterans of the game. Sell it, right the wrongs, provide the material that people are waiting for before dropping car payments on an unnecessary item.

I just find it funny that those speaking up about what they dislike are the negative ones that are responsible for holding people back when Hasbro rushed a campaign and their flaws are showing; drastically…but we, we are the problem?
i posed a question. You don’t have to agree. But I’m wondering what’s being accomplished by page after page of complaints about basically everything. Does that appear like a community that is fun to be part of?

It may be a THING but it isn't the MAIN thing.

The main thing is the poorly executed campaign.

Non 'scapers on BGG and elsewhere are pointing this out and they aren't talking about whatever negative stuff might be on FB or dicord; they are talking about the shoddy campaign.

Don't get it twisted. Let's not blame the community for AH/Hasbro's short comings on this effort.
All completely valid of course, but I’m wondering what is being accomplished, so I came right out and pondered a question.

Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

For the lurkers who are reading this thread, Heroscape is my favorite board game of all time. There's a reason we're so passionately discussing this campaign, and it's because we want this campaign to succeed.

I have to admit that every time I read this thread I become more negative about it myself. In trying to think of the positives...

Positives;
I think the fact they asked the community to have a say in the new cards was awesome.
Their are community members helping flesh out the new units.
The package is certainly worth $250.
Heroscape may be coming back...

Just when you thought it was all right, someone made it alright.

Good trades with - Porkins / xraine69 / mac122 (x2) / frylock / Ztimster (x2) and probably others I forgotten to mention...sorry.

This is 100% on Hasbro. How hard would it have been to ask the community a few questions before they started development? Most negativity could have been avoided by having conversations. Explain the cost of painted minis and have the community ready so everyone doesn't get their hopes up. Simple stuff.

I've talked to them. Very frustrated with how AH is handling this.

I have wondered that also, but people accuse you of discouraging the community from expressing themselves when you say that kind of thing.
People are free to accuse me of that if they want. I’m fine.

Re: Heroscape 2nd Edition is here!

I think the main thing driving potential new players away is the fact that there’s still zero information about the actual game on the campaign page. And those people who looked and moved on because of that likely aren’t coming back, since there’s hundreds of other crowdfunding games to look at that DO have the game showcased from day 1.

You could look online to see what people are saying, but there’s nothing bad to be said about the game really. Since we still don’t know anything about it
