Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - VOTE for Playtesting
NAME = DEADPOOL
SECRET IDENTITY = WADE WILSON SPECIES = MUTATE UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = MERCENARY PERSONALITY = INSANE SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 7 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 6 ATTACK = 5 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 300 "ME FIRST!" Start the game with the Glyph of Teleportation Belt on this card. Once per turn, if an enemy figure moves at least one space and ends its movement within clear sight of Deadpool, Deadpool may immediately use his Teleportation Belt as long as he is placed adjacent to that enemy figure. After placing him in this way, he must roll an unblockable attack die against each figure adjacent to him, one at a time. MERC WITH A MOUTH Enemy figures attacking Deadpool with a normal attack roll one additional attack die but subtract one skull from whatever is rolled. After rolling defense dice against an attack that targeted Deadpool, if he did not receive any wounds, you may roll one unblockable attack die against the attacking figure. HEALING FACTOR X After taking a turn with Deadpool, remove one Wound Marker from this card. At the end of the round, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card to remove one Wound Marker from each Army Card you control with the Healing Factor X special power. The original design; looking back. Last edited by Splash; July 11th, 2022 at 02:56 PM. Reason: Perspective |

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
The Teleportation Belt just feels really random on this design. It doesn't interact with anything else on the card and it's thrown into another power.

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
I was thinking about that, since Tornado mentioned that as well. I was trying to think of a way of incorporating it offensively, but another thing that's been mentioned is this design shouldn't mimic DPI's double attack, so I wasn't sure how.
Here's an idea I had that might make it more interesting that could possible replace Merc with a Mouth and tie in his 4th Wall breaking. Quote:

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
I think the second and third powers are in a good place. I'd either cut the teleportation belt from the first power or replace the first power with something more teleportation belt focused.
Maybe something like Batman JL-II's At the Ready? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
Yeah, I don't think the proposed alternative power really involves the belt any more than as-is, so I'd concur that either involving it more with it somehow makes sense, or just remove it.
For the last power name, I'd drop "Ah" from it to keep the power name on 1 line for text space purposes. |

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
I like where this design is and don't want to run into a wall breaking half of it down to incorporate the Belt. In the interest of having a fun and cool DP design, I'll take everyone's advice and remove the belt line, so it doesn't further drive discussion and we can get at any of the small bits of the rest of it that might need attention.
I'll be happy with Weasel bringing in the belt. I think there is good justification for Weasel acting as sort of a Lucius Fox type in game for Deadpool (I think at one point the batteries ran out on it because Weasel had used them to charge a Nintendo controller or something). And it would be kind of weird having Weasel hand out the belt and there's a DP who already has it. |

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
Another note, while this is still breathing, I would like Mental Shield to go on if possible. He is legitimately immune to Telepaths. Or maybe something like this on Merc.

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
I’ll be honest, I think that complicates the design more than neeeded.
Like not disagreeing it’s a Deadpool thing, just when making a C3G design, you often have to cut certain elements. Every Doctor Who can’t be dual-classed as a Telepath, for example. I could see a potential direction for this design where you completely nix the first power and just do a Teleport Belt power and Mental Shield. But I’m assuming that’s not the direction you want to go here. |

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
Like replacing the first power with this is slightly more interesting to me, but there's no accounting for taste, y'know?

Re: The Book of Deadpool (III) - Breathing
I might be in the minority, but I would rather see a teleportation belt centered power than another bonding power. I've always found it kinda weird that the belt glyph has Deadpool's logo on it and yet there is no Deadpool card that starts with the belt equipped.
