Re: Taelord Question??????

I played Taelord twice last night and had plenty of success sitting him on a little cliff behind Zetacron on height. Soulborgs dying all around them.

2011 most played: 1. Heroscape/Monsterpocalypse/Quarriors. 4. Warhammer Invasion. 5. Last Night on Earth.

That is BS.

There are so many erratas in the FAQ. I think mistakes are admitted with regularity.

Taelord can be awesome in the right setting, just like every unit in Heroscape. Taelord backing ranged units on a castle wall is a classic scenario where he is well worth his points.

HEROSCAPE WAS NOT DEVELOPED AS A TOURNAMENT GAME. The meta game of Heroscape has really distorted many player’s perception of units, especially the newer players who think the tournament scene is all Heroscape is about. It isn’t and there are units that simply do not fit into the meta game well. Taelord is one of them.

We have close ties to the designers here and do not take kindly to this type of blasting of them.

I implore all of you to think and play beyond just the meta game. Your respect and appreciation for all things Heroscape will grow immensely.

A must read for all 'Scapers!

Well that's great then. I tried for years to get my freinds to play Hero Scape with me and no one would. We all played Clix where the designers were arrogant and not communicative with the fan base at all. I thank those of you that have explained good ways to use Taelord even with his rather high cost. Of course it begins to even out at around 600 or higher. Almost anything would. It still seems to me that you could use Concan and Sentinels of Jandar for 10 more points and just go kill Taelord quickly thus wrecking a third of your opponnents build total, but there I go thinking meta-game (Smart Strategist) again

I don't think that's true. Cheap commons get progressively harder to field as point totals raise and start zones stay constant. Most units stay about equally viable at different totals, only a few, like Taelord, increase in value as army size increases.

Also, remember that no-one thinks Taelord is an army by himself. In the army I suggested there are three squads of rats for Concan and the Sentinels to navigate.

Hello,

I'll take the time to direct you to a very good thread compiled by several great members of this site to help out new posters.

Please click and read the New Member Survival thread

Down towards the bottom is the Nettiqute and scapers online portion to help you get aquainted with forum rules and good posting habits as well as lots of great information about heroscape and the literature with in.

One thing you don't do is come in here and start trying to prove you are a "badaxe". You just seem juvenile if you do.

But I get the buisness because you assume I'm thinking a certain way. In fact I do just the opposite. No one plays tournaments around here so we just play at home. I almost always play one faction armies because I like the feel of having a whole team of Ullar Elves or Utgar Orcs. I suppose if you like to mix Taelord and Omnicrons and such and it works well for you then that's great. Maybe I'll give it a try and see if Taelord is worth his points then.

Re: Taelord Question??????

Most "Smart strategists" would know you can mix the units together to make a better army.

I wasn't trying to, just asking a question. I am not a newbie to online game forums anymore than I am to playing Hero Scape. Thanks for the advice.

Sure, it's just not my preffered style of play. I like one faction armies. If there were real touranments for Scape in my area then I'd meta game it up and play cut throat like any one else.
