I like the customs. I especially like the use of Carr for the modified captain. Here is the pirate squad I made last year.

I think pirates should be like the ninjas or cowboys: a hero in each Valkyrie. I dont have pictures, but here are my ideas:
Utgar: A ghost captain much like the phantom knights Vydar: A captain in all gray with an eyepatch, peg leg, and hook Einar: A classic pirate(without eyepatch, peg leg, or hook) who has a scimitar Vakrill: A skeleton pirate Jandar, Ullar, and Aquilla are too good and peaceful for pirates
