Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Pub Playtesting)
I concur. Switching to Investigator. Reaching out to the one playtester signed up so far.

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Pub Playtesting)
Investigators as a faction won't mind having a more offensive figure. So thread title will be (Investigator) then?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I was leaning Nightstalker but not super opposed to that.

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Pub Playtesting)
So something I had a question about (and apologies for bogging this thread even further down in minor theme details) - does Whistler exist in 616? Comicvine is telling me no, but that's Comicvine. Either way, he definitely didn't exist until after Nightstalkers was a thing, so probably doesn't make sense to have both of those thematic callouts here.

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Pub Playtesting)
Regular Wikipedia only mentions Whistler in the context of the films.

Whistler doesn’t exist in 616. The only mentions on the Marvel Fandom are the 90s cartoons and the live action movies.

Could call it Slayer's Arsenal.

Re: The Book of Blade (Midnight Sons) (Pub Playtesting)
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

I went with Slayer's Arsenal and Nightstalkers for now.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Just ran a couple low cost games to test the Hellboy bonding. Had some bizarro luck in the games with the Titans, so hard to get much of a feel for him in those, but Blade was quite fun in the first game. Nice to have a more generalist take on the character, though by nature he’s still kinda a counterdraft to Magical Defense units and such. I think his points felt close - he’s fairly durable and flexible offensively, so there’s room to go up. But I might consider dropping his life or defense rather than bumping cost if it comes to that. |
