Superman Vs. Galactus

Got into a discussion with my nephew last night and we were trying to figure out who would win in a fight between Superman and Galactus. I am not really sure on all of Galactus' strengths and weaknesses so any help would be appreciated.

So, here is my question for all you DC and Marvel masters.

Who wins in Superman vs. Galactus? Please explain your reasoning.

Lets see

Galactus is an Eternity level being. He can just about do anything. And based on the comics he "is" the universe. He has been acknowledged as an abstract like death, and has even been called necessary for the universe to be balanced. So far he cannot be destroyed. He just reforms. Even at his height with the sword of superman partially absorbed and right around his most powerful age or near crisis superman would still have no chance. They are on different levels.

Galactus is Marvel and Superman is DC, so how was Superman Galactus' herald? I missed that crossover.

Galactus is regularly beaten by a dude with a brain and stretchy powers. I don't think it's as clear cut as you might think, Chief.

He is not beaten his mind is changed. And Mr. Fantastic is the smartest man alive. Not just a guy with a big brain. Galactus has massive respect for Mr. Fantastic and has often been persuaded to change his course of action. Often Mr. Fantastic uses technology to assist him; something Superman is not capable of doing. Superman is a brute warrior. Strength has no effect on Galactus. Otherwise Hulk would have accomplished more than being eaten by him.

Defeat in terms of an entity like Galactus is defined as forcing him to change his mind. Not really in terms of death. Which is how most of these Matchup questions work.

In this instance though Galactus has no problems with Superman. Sups just has no weapons in his arsenal that even phase Galactus.

Galactus probably wouldn't even show up for the fight. He would just create a Kryptonite Construct and tell it to handle his light work.

Superman has zero chance just himself (IE, physical combat). Galactus would eat him up no problem.

Haha! I remember when all the talk was circulating about how hulk has infinite strength and how he could potentially beat Galactus. Right after the planet hulk fight between Surfer and Hulk ended with Surfer losing every hulk fanboy and their mother started talking trash about how the hulk could put the beat down on Big G.

I am no fan of DC, but I'd give a Superman vs Hulk fight to Superman easy. And Superman is a red smear on the ground in a fight vs Big G.
