Re: Sports: NFL
Having gone to high school with the kid taking over at quarterback for Notre Dame, I can say that he absolutely has the talent to compete at this level. I believe that the playoff remains a realistic possibility for them going forward.
As for the Cowboys, I am not too confident in their current situation. Being a Browns fan, I have never seen much in Brandon Weeden's game that inspires much confidence. |

Virginia Tech and Dallas...Both Quarterbacks had the same injury...
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |

Re: Sports: NFL
While I'm hoping that he has learned a few things since he was with the Browns, I'm not yet convinced he has. He didn't look very good last Fall when Romo missed a game. The Cardinals did have a top def. last year so it was a tough draw but even so I didn't think he played all that well. He did go 7 for 7 last week though so maybe he has improved with another training camp and off season under his belt. I'm expecting the Falcons to be playing 8 men in the box for at least the first half, so hopefully he can at least do well enough to force them to back off in the second half.

On a serious note...he has a little more to work with in Dallas then Cleveland has had combined for the last 10 years so I don't think you can judge any QB on that talent. Re: Sports: NFL
The Brandon Weedon update is that he is just not very good and I don't think his issues are correctable at this point in his career. It was painful to watch him not step up in the pocket to avoid a pass rusher and instead just crumple to the ground. No one expects him to scramble around like an all start, but taking one step forward shouldn't be difficult for a professional athlete. Football is a game of inches so when he doesn't even move an inch out of the way bad things happen. I'm starting to think 2-14 and a top 3 draft pick is the way to go.

I am thinking 1-15 with that one victory at chilly Lambeau Field just to stick it to the Packers.

Re: Sports: NFL
Honestly, finally winning at Lambeau would be worth the 15 losses.

Re: Sports: NFL
I feel you guys on the issues of QB injuries and just poor play from the position. As a former student at Texas A&M it was tough to watch them lose to a VERY beatable Alabama team. Our supposedly highly ranked recruit at QB unperformed consistently in that game and it was very disappointing to watch him continuously make poor decisions and overthrow receivers.
Although my Steelers have risen to the challenge while Big Ben is out. Considering that a kicker has cost us at least two games this year, I'm very happy to be 4-2 without Big Ben. A win each with Vick and Landry Jones is about the best I could hope for after three weeks of injury. (Though if Scobee could have made one freaking field goal in the fourth quarter, Vick would have gone 2-0. Oh well, we have a new guy that seems to understand his job is to make field goals and Scobee is someone else's problem.) Semi-Retired C3G Hero (and first Official Member of the C3G Target Audience!) Alabama is UNbeatable!
(not really, but it was fun to say) C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
