Re: Confred's RPG Customs - *Updated* - Shifting Cloak desig
CHAPTER 4 - After Collin and his loyal retainers get captured once again, the party is put in a new cell with thicker doors and Rat Guards instead of normal Jailers. There they discuss their plans, which get interrupted by another figure in cell they at first did not see.
Filch joins your army!
Filch reveals a hidden passage leading to a courtyard. But he warns that there is a reason he chooses to stay in a cell..
Old Crow (Single-Hex)
Old Crow {90} vs Collin (Power Glyph Of Protect), Tilda, Nez, Maginos, and Filch {25*}
Map: Alkali Lake
Heavy Snow, Slippery Ice
Glyphs: Yes: x1: unknown treasure: trap = 1-4: wound.
Special Rules:
Win: Blue army wins at the end of the turn if all surviving blue figures are in red's starting zone and at the edge of the map.
Lose: If red army destroys any blue figures, players keep playing but blue army must replay mission without the destroyed figures. The destroyed figures are replaced by Glyphs Of Brandar and are placed adjacent to the 15-height Evergreen Tree by red player. On replay, replace Old Crow with Rat Guards.
Treasure: There is one Glyph on this Map. If win, may keep all Treasure for the next Chapter. Old Crow may move onto this Glyph, but he never picks up or uses this Glyph.
Power: If blue army destroys Old Crow, choose one Power Glyph at random and give it to the surviving figure with the fewest number of Power Glyphs on its Army Card. win or lose, keep all Power Glyphs for the next Chapter.
Lily: Under the bridge and its handrails is a safe zone against Old Crow. Before placing order markers, if all figures you control are in a safe zone, place Lily on the battlefield adjacent to a figure you control. Lily joins your army. If you replay this mission, you cannot gain Lily this way.
Time: At the beginning of Round 5, before placing order markers, red army gains 1 squad of Rat Guards. Every 5 additional rounds adds a squad of Rat Guards.
===BATTLE REPORT===
Spoiler Alert!
Round 1
The mice in blue start their positions as close as they can get to the bridge.
Blue wins initiative, but the first few turns are disorganized. Nez climbs the ladder to gain defensive height - But Old Crow flies even higher and makes short order of the tinkerer. (Nez dies with 3 wounds)
Colin and Tilda forget about Scramble and scoot for the water and to Lily on their order marker.
Old Crow picks off the now lone Filch. (Filch dies with 1 wound)
Maginos had order marker 3; he backs away to be adjacent to both Collin and Tilda - moving at least 2 spaces to avoid Dastardly. Maginos whiffs and is devoured on Old Crow's order marker 3 with no Empathy to be seen by Tilda(Maginos dies with 1 wound)
At this point, the remaining Collin and Tilda realize strategy needs to change (exist) and quick. They also remember to Scramble for the first time in this game. Water's true menace becomes clear: Water = 1 space movement = Dastardly.
Round 2
Collin utilizes slippery ice whenever he can and finagles his way to the safe zone.
Old Crow focuses on Tilda, but Tilda is empathetic to herself: she rerolls her blank and scores 2 shields vs 1 skull. Collin Scrambles in the water, drawing the attention of Dastardly Old Crow - but Collin is still in the safe zone. Tilda scores a leaving engagement attack on Old Crow. (Old Crow 3 Life remaining)
by order marker 3, all mice are under the bridge and safe while Old Crow has been ping ponged around. (Old Crow 2 Life remaining)
Round 3
Lily joins blue army!
Tilda lead by Collin attacks, then so does Collin. Old Crow defends but quickly realizes He cannot last 2 rounds like this. He retreats further than 4 spaces but takes 1 leaving engagement strike (Old Crow 1 Life remaining)
Collin tastes blood; He sends Lily exploring to the finish line, After moving into water, Lily may move again if she's not engaged - an unexpected quip of wording. I kind of like it.
Collin charges the Old Crow, whom is guard the Glyph. Collin slides close.
The bait is not tempting enough: Old Crow flies over the glaciers and pecks Lily! (Lily dies with 1 wound)
Collin gasps but keeps focus. He spends 3 move to get to the Glyph. He disarms the trap and reveals:
GLYPH OF TATTERED THREADS OF REASONING!!! (randomly selected Treasure Glyph)
Sewn within the Threads, are Power Glyphs of Battle Revive, Chain Lightning, Energy Rush, and Resolve.
Battle Revive is tempting because most of Collin's slain heroes have only 1 wound on their Army Cards. However, Old Crow is within 6 clear sight spaces and Collin hasn't attacked yet. (Old Crow dies with 5 wounds!)
Wow: Old Crow wasn't intended to be defeated.
Tilda is the only other surviving hero, and she has fewer than Collin's 2 Power Glyphs. So she randomly receives:
Power Glyph Of First Aid.
Tune in next time for images of Glyphs, Tilda's updated Army Card, Breakdown of figure and power edits, and of course see if the two mice meet the finish line before Round 5!
