Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
NAME = SHADOWCAT
SECRET IDENTITY = KITTY PRYDE https://www.heroscapers.com/communit...mbol_black.png SPECIES = MUTANT UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = REBEL PERSONALITY = RUTHLESS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 185 GHOST ASSASSIN Shadowcat can move through all figures, Fortress Walls, and obstacles, and is never attacked when leaving an engagement. After moving, you may choose a figure Shadowcat moved through. Roll one unblockable attack die against the chosen figure. A figure may not be chosen for Ghost Assassin more than once per turn. ADAMANTIUM CLAWS Figures subtract 2 from their defense dice when attacked by Shadowcat with an adjacent normal attack. REACTIONARY PHASING If Shadowcat is attacked by an opponent's figure and at least 1 skull is rolled, roll the 20-sided die, adding 6 to your roll if the attacking figure is not adjacent to Shadowcat. If you roll 12 or higher, Shadowcat takes no damage. |

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
Hadn't seen this write up previously but it's very interesting and simple. I really like it. # on Reactionary Phasing can be adjusted if needed to hit your points. I can see her fitting into a lot of Mutant builds. I like.

Simple design that gets the theme across. I like it.

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
She looks kinda nasty but I like it.

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
Looks fun. I'm guessing the points trend up though if nothing changes, which doesn't bother me one bit. She's got a lot of tricks up her sleeve.

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
I'm actually thinking of maybe dialing her down a tad, just to keep her points at 130. Almost done with Colossus' initials, and he's trending closer to 270, so pairing them in a block of 400, would be a nice fit. I've also got a lot of army point totals listed out in the AoA thread, so I'm sort of aiming for certain slots to insure they all make for nice army options. Her stats account for 50 points, so that'd make her powers needing to come out to 80.
That said, if we want to see her go up, 155, 160, or 200 could be other options, just not forming a block with Colossus(assuming he lands at 270). |
Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
Reactionary Phasing is the thing that I think will most drive the points up. Shadowcat II is a 170 point figure with 4 life/def., while Shadowcat I is only 80 points with 4 life/def.

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
Yeah, possibly. Though I think II's ability to move friendly figures with her + a quasi flight type ability + 1 additional movement also play into that point value. All depends on how much you value each power of course.
We'll see how she's feeling and go from there. Like I said, there are other point totals she could hit and still have plenty of spots to fill in Rebel army point totals. If Colossus trends back up, then I won't feel as compelled to get her at 130. If we do decide to go higher with her, I did have this version of Ghost Assassin as an option as well: Quote:

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
Personally, I prefer the simpler draft to the free movement one - I like her in a nice little "Kitty + Wolverine" bundle that way. If she needs to be toned down, I might make the unblockable die an "instead of attacking" thing. That and upping the Phasing roll, yeah. But meat-and-potatoes here I'm happy with.

Re: The Book of Shadowcat (AoA) (Breathing)
I'd put her at about 180 on the calculator as is, fwiw. Pretty reliable, no cost auto-wounding (since you still get to attack) paired with what's essentially Spidey-Sense defensively (though better from range!) is a nasty combination. And then she still gets disengage and defensive reduction.
