Week@HS #25

Posted July 15th, 2013 at 01:36 PM by truth

VC
New warriors are arriving in Valhalla shortly, but how will those warriors change the war? Share your thoughts about the upcoming release in the C3V Speculation Thread. Who knows, maybe someone guessed something correctly already!

HINT: Check a graveyard for a clue. It's not anything obvious!

HoSS
This week, we bring you Chewbacca!
With his Chewie's Life Debt power he can serve as a great guard and works even better with Han Solo. With his Wookiee Rage he is deadly to squads and his Bowcaster SA makes him a dangerous ranged threat. Combine these with some great stats and you have another solid hero for the Rebel Alliance!

Want more Star Wars action? Can't wait for our first 'wave' release? Then help us playtest! This will allow you to get a sneak peak (and use) of the units as well as help us get a finished product to you as soon as possible! Also, don't forget that if your tests are completed and your playtesting sheet is filled out that you will receive a HoSSRP (Heroes of StarWars 'Scape Reward Point) that can be put towards all kinds of cool features!

Custom of the Week
This week we're featuring a custom design by capsocrates! (With card made by Danieloche)
Major Tom is a very solid custom design, and recently won Speed Custom Challenge 3. His 2 attack may not seem like much at first, but with a fitting reuse of Sighting and the tactical flexibility of his Battle Rifle, Major Tom can bring some ranged firepower for a cheap price.

Map of the Week
This week, we will show you a map/scenario made by Kolakoski!
A truly original map, Escape Through Endor is both beautiful to look at and fun to play. The accompanying scenario has a nice mix of Classic and HoSS for a fun medley. Add to that Elevators for getting on top of the pillars and Rope Swings to get across those pesky crevasses and you have a truly original scenario that promises to be a blast! Check out the full scenario here.

Custom SuperScape Creation
This week we bring you the Baxter building by Grishnakh!
This building is perfectly scaled for Heroscape use and is great for use in Marvel Battles! For the most enjoyable results, try playing it with Grishnakh's optional rules here.

Fan Art of the Month
Killer Lawnmower, one of the many photographers of Valhalla, brings us some incredible pictures in his thread: Fun Pictures. Plenty of imaginative ideas and scenes await you here, as well as a lot of Crixus. Hmm... quite a lot of Crixus. That aside, be sure to check it out, a must-see for all HeroScapers!

Miscellaneous
Did you enjoy listening to the Heroscape podcast known as 'Scapetalk? Well now, its back. 'ScapeTalk 2013 has launched their project, but they need your help coming up with good ideas for topics in their podcast.
Heroscape Elffy and Oh yeah! I'm here, will be creating podcasts with topics focused on Heroscape-based ideas that are mainly happening in the Heroscapers sanctum. Topics include C3V, SoV, and C3G. Other ideas will be brought up as well, such as guests who contribute to the site, and other users who have Heroscape news. Look forward the latest info from the C3V, and SoV projects! However, this can only happen if you, the users can submit ideas to the host and co-host of the project. The email that is used for this can be found here. You may also post any ideas in the thread linked before.

By graveyard, do you mean a dead thread or the word graveyard? "Hsguy glad that there is wifi at the quaint little cabin he's at to access Hser's on his Ipod."

Re: Week @ HeroScapeRs

WOW! Another fantastic issue of W@HS - GREAT JOB GUYS. Thanks for all you do to keep the enthusiasm for this awesome game alive even after the HasBORG and WrotC declared it dead.

I love the photos. I wish my camera had a better close up capability to capture more of the details in the figures. Some of the facial expressions are priceless, especially when shown in the light of a BoV situation.

I love Kolakowski's map, although appearing quite complex, the new movement mechanics of elevators (for vertical) and jungle vines (for horizontal) via a simple Glyph to mark the Entry/Exit locations are unique.

Even though I personally would reserve the "Major" rank for Vydar's soulborgs and might prefer an "Agent _[maybe Scully]_" title and a Common Hero status for this one, I still love Capsocrates's custom figure design stats and hope to see it "officially" sanctioned in a future C3V release, since I have plenty of Star Wars Mini's Game "Rebel Marksman" figures which would make a nice proxy for this HorrorClix Field Agent #082.

And I always love to see Grisnack's wonderful creations, even though I never ever play Marvel-Scape or follow any of the comic book hero storylines.

I'm already looking forward to next week's special edition.

Thank You! Thank You Very Much!

Well met!

Thanks, guys! Such recognition means a great deal to me.

I decided to add Battlements (must have been after the W@HS team saw it) for aesthetic purposes (and a few other things, for playability).

The Elevator mechanic is a simpler variation on the
Teleporters! mechanic (unfortunately, no pics ). The Rope Swings were first used in Pirates! In practice, both concepts are intuitive, and there have been no real problems in their use.

Major Tom is a very solid custom design . . .

I agree totally! Another Soldier option to field with my Romans.

The Little Red Ninja who Didn't Disappear

Cute!

I always love to see Grisnack's wonderful creations . . .

~ Johngee

Especially his
Lost Realm (the rules to which I repeatedly (without success) tried to get Grish to publish)!

Great to hear Elffy and the crew have got the ball rolling. Just about to flood the tip box as soon as get back to the States.
Also, whenever I see 'Major Tom' I instantly think 'Space Oddity.' Anyone?
