I guess it just doesn’t feel right to me? I understand if nobody else feels like that. I think it’s just the combination of having 2 bonding powers on her card, with the one for Carnage being lesser than the other one?

We could do something like this maybe?

CARNAGE FAMILY
If all of your Order Markers this round are on Insane, Sadistic, or Violent Heroes, after revealing an Order Marker this turn, instead of taking a turn with that Hero, you may take a turn with Shriek. During this turn, Shriek rolls one additional attack die against figures adjacent to that Hero.

I think that's a little cleanly, at it helps sell the theme that they're a serial killer "family." Personalities obviously subject to change... I think opening things up to Insane figures in general is a pretty major synergy shift.

I get that. Don't particularly feel it here, but I get where you're coming from in general.

The reason it goes down smooth for me is that:
a) her relationship with Carnage is different from her relationship with Doppelganger and co, and they don't need to be captured in the exact same way.
b) I don't see the Carnage one as being lesser. It doesn't have the same flex, but if you're talking strictly "turn with Carnage where you get to set up Shriek wherever you need her first" vs "turn with Shriek", the former is gonna be a bigger turn, you know?

That said, I could be won over on the "just one power to do the whole family thing". Speaking of which...

I'd be willing to give that direction a shot, but in that case I would really want something extra to tie her into Carnage specifically.... even if it were just like a little cutesy name shout-out type of power (like on Joker (I) or Hawkman).

And yeah, broader Insane synergy is definitely a shift, but honestly I think that's the real natural sort of build to throw her into already.

Hmmm. I'm not sure I like calling out Symbiote to give us that, because that's not the reason she likes Carnage so much. He was her kind of guy long before he ever saw a symbiote.

Just to keep organized, the skeleton of the new direction here is:

If all of your Order Markers are on the Army Cards of a Insane, Sadistic, or Wild (?) Heroes, after revealing an Order Marker on the card of a Unique Hero you control and instead of taking a turn with that Hero, you may take a turn with Shriek. During this turn, Shriek rolls one additional attack die against figures adjacent to that Hero.

BAD VIBRATIONS
All figures within 4 spaces of Shriek subtract 1 from their Defense numbers for each of the following that is true:
-that figure is not Insane, Sadistic, or Wild.
-that figure is an enemy Symbiote.
-that figure is defending against an attack from Shriek.

FLYING

(Bad Vibrations is just a rebranded Sonic Disorientation because I like the flavor of the name a bit better, open to thoughts. EDIT: Oh, also I tweaked it to get the same synergy set as Carnage Family)

What about something like this as a light touch thing to get that Carnage shout-out I'm looking for?

At the start of the first round, before Order Markers are placed, if you control Carnage, you may immediately move Carnage and Shriek up to 5 spaces each.

Essentially a much-reduced version of Psycho Love to capture the whole uh... date night murder spree vibe?
