Are three Knights Templar a fair value for the price?

I'm totally cool with 3. I would have bought 2, but think 3 is a good value. Three plastic knights from GW (unassembled and unpainted) would cost you about $25.

Ah, well. I'll get at least two. Four if they are commons. So, what the he|| am I complaining about.

I've no idea. Blue=commons.

About the Blue = Common. I was just curious about the lawmen and samurai pack from wave 4. The hasbro site shows them with a blue background but they are definitely unique (at least I think so). I was wondering if this was the exception or if it is an error on the web site. Its been so long since I purchased wave four that I don't remember if the lawmen and samurai pack actually had a blue background or not. I'm sure this has been asked before but I would have no idea where to look. Oh and for what it's worth a single squad of three knights is worth the cost.

and they are bringing religion into this game now withe the Templar? soon the'll have to include the Flying Spaghetti Monster and some pirates.

It's not that bad, it's like putting the first pope of rome in. Religious, but historically factual.

Blue.

That's just plain odd...

Then again, that is the only booster (that I know of anyway) that had both unique and common figures in it.

Pretty sure the mock up on hasbro is wrong

I don't mind the 3 figures at all. I have 5 packs on order. Chances are, if I see any around before my order comes in....I'm gonna be picking those up as well.

oops... thought the samurai were common...

Folks, they have to be a common squad..... The description is 3 figures and 1 card on a blue label.....

CALL IN THE CAVALRY!

The Templar Cavalry is in place and ready to charge at any time. Call on them to raid the enemy or rush to your defense. When attacking Utgar followers, Templar cavalry receive 1 additional attack die.

Includes 3 painted figures and 1 army card

Thats it, I'm skipping this wave.

three figures seems a fair value to me, seeing as they're all fairly bulky double spaced figs.

Buddy, let me put you at ease. Remember Wave 2? Knights and the Swog Rider? That's 4 figures + 1 double hex figure. Did anyone gripe about that? Now we're getting 3 double hex figs in one pack. Count the Swog as one and two Knights = 1 Double hex fig. Knights and The Swog Rider contained 6 total hexes and so will the 3 horsey guys from Wave 7.

Why the grief? It's still a better bargain than $12.99 for a flagbearer (thank you very much TRU

The contrarian in me says Gorillas and Hounds. 3 double spaced plus 3 single spaced. Of course the rational side of me says these guys are a lot bigger vertically than the Marrden Hounds. The only other way to really fit more than the Templar squad in the pack is if this was the large hero pack. Of course the idea of a common .5 figure pack would make the silly 2:1 packaging make a whole lot more sense.

I am on the verge of calling foul. I'll wait until I see the stats, sculpts, etc. But a $13.00 MSRP single squad pack seems very "opportunistic" by Hasbro. Keep in mind to use commons to any effect you have to have at least 2 sets. To really use them you should have 3 sets. Hasbro seemed to learn their lesson with the Zombies. Appearantly they have forgotten.

Keep in mind, with the exception of the Zombies you have to buy at least two sets of EVERY common pack. Your reasoning applies to every single common pack to date, not just the Knights. I'd say that's even true of the Zombies, as you really don't begin to make use of their abilities with less than 3 squads. Hasbro's not taking any more opportunity here than they have with any other common set.

I think the Knights are a fine deal. 3 beefy figures (at least 2 1/2 figures worth in size). It's just a common, small package of a large squad. I'd say it looks like there's more here than in the Heroes pack at the very least. Look how jammed full that box is. I don't see how anyone could expect them to jam another squad or common hero in there as is. I think Hasbro's only other option is to not give us mounted units, which I don't think anyone wants.

The Soulborgs pack of Wave 5 is a better example. 3 double spaced figures (taller than the Hounds too) plus FOUR additional figures. Of course, the Deathstalkers don't have those huge lances to mold plastic around and if you've ever looked at that package, it's by far the most stupidly cramped set they've ever done. Those huge lances are really what fills up the packaging more than anything, though I wouldn't be surprised if these guys are 7 tall anyway.

OK, having seen the knights up on Sandra's site, I'd say that 3 in the pack isn't a rip-off. I'm disappointed that there's no terrain, but there's not a lot of room left in the pack for more figures.

On the other hand, we have 5 single-spaced heroes, and two terrain pieces (snow AGAIN) - THAT'S a rip-off. And only 5 figures plus more snow in the Vampires & Fiends pack. ANOTHER rip-off.

I can't remember any previous wave where you'd get just 5 single-spaced figures for your money - and there's certainly not been a wave before with two such packs.

Still, the Templars look good (has anyone noticed that the artwork for the pack has the correct type of cross, but the figures themselves have an inaccurate Maltese cross painted on them?).

Aren't the hero packs in Waves 3, 4, and 6 all 5 single spaced figures? Wave 1 has a double spaced, and Wave 2 has a double spaced, but only 4 figures. I wouldn't go so far as saying it's a rip-off, or even any of the other hero packs. Wave 4 maybe, but Wave 2 has Krug. He's worth the price alone. I'll have to say wait and see how good they are before saying rip-off.

Maybe ripoff is too harsh - perhaps "poor value" sums it up better.

This wave has 4 double-hex pieces - that's half of the terrain from previous waves (except the first wave or two, which had even more terrain than has become the norm).

It also feels somewhat "light" on figures - does someone want to do the maths and see how it compares to earlier waves?
