Just wait a week or two, I have some cool new models for you to print.

What kind of treasures do you speak of? I havent designed anything yet and dont know much about slicing software but I do want to try to make my own files with specific supports to keep the models clean and simple to break free afterwards. Also, my last model that was 65 % done popped off the build plate. What would make it do that if its calibrated ok? I have a bit to learn but am really digging it. Id love if you made a dewback trooper. Thatd be awesome.

What material are you printing with? PLA or ABS? There are several reasons it can pop off:
1) curling at the edges (happens often on wide builds)
2) bed temperature too low
3) dirty bed
4) wrong starting height of bed
5) blobs or curling in the extrusion which are hit by the nozzle and knock the part free

Also, I add hairspray to my bed before each print to help it stick.

It may be dirty in the center of the bed where I printed all of the figurines. Then again I heard quite a few people with my machine say they had problems that way. Some also mentioned hair spray. Thanks for the tips. Dewback trooper.

The Battle Droid on the left is a Star Wars Mini. The other battle droid, the Dewback Rider, Wo-Sa-Ga, the Large Air Elemental, and Isamu are 3D printed.


I bought some clear filament that I'm going to use for the Air Elemental. That one was just a test.

I'm still working on painting the Dewback Rider and Wo-Sa-Ga. The Battle Droid and Isamu are finished painting. The Battle Droid isn't perfect, but now I can field a whole lot of them--and on the one game we played with the 3d printed droids I never even thought about how they looked.


I'll upload the files when I finish painting. And I have a few more goodies I've been working on that I'll post when I finish painting them.

Those are going to be awesome. Didn't even think about the droid because I already have quite a few. Those will all be a welcome addition to my collection. I tried the hairspray thing and my next 2 prints came off of the build plate. I may have to try cleaning it or something, or printing on a raft.

To field an all droid army you're going to want a LOT of droids (24 for 300 point games, 32 for 400 point games, 40 for 500 point games!!!)


Try cleaning first.



If that doesn't work, take some pictures of what you are printing and your printer setup. Also, let me know the temperature of your print bed, the material of your print bed, and the material filament are you using.

Also, let me know how your filament is (since it came out of the vacuum bag with the desiccant).


Failed prints can be REALLY annoying (I just spent 2 months tracking down and fixing a problem with my printer). But it's a little less annoying if you have someone else to help try to diagnose the problem.

50c print bed temp. It might be a cleaning issue because my first 6 prints came out beautiful with no problem. What to clean it with? I know its calibrated because it doesnt pull up till after quite awhile. I have part of my last print still stuck to the bed.

Clean the bed with acetone. I use it for both PLA and ABS.

Try that before you try the raft.
You might also want to increase your bed temperature to 60C or higher.

Have you tried to reprint one of the first parts you printed to see if it's the printer or the new print?

I cleaned the bed with alcohol and went into the custom settings and raised the temp to 65 then 60 after the first layer. That did the trick. I printed out a baby groot and a mario figure. Worked out beautiful. I loaded up some of your knights and they were super tiny. How do you scale them the best way? I have a scale tool and can get ballpark. Would a pair of calipers be the best way to measure.
